DU on Facebook?

I was following another thread and decided to check out DU on Facebook. When I entered "Democratic Underground", I found an "interest" group (?) of the same name. The first line of the description follows:

"Negro Underground, also known as NU, is an online community for US Democrats and progressives."

WTF?

Somebody more savvy than me, fix this shit.

4. Hm. The description at the bottom says that's from Wikipedia

but Wikipedia doesn't have that entry. I'm guessing that someone hacked Wikipedia and it wound up on that page, then someone fixed Wikipedia.

There are several DU groups over there, it took a while to find the one you meant. It's not a group you join, it's the kind you "Like," though I have no idea what the difference is.

12. Yeah, pisses me off, too, since there was a heavy attempt to smear DUers who hung out at Facebook

a while back, and now this is going to go into the trove of lies some used to do it with. So in addition to being racist (and an obvious attack on Obama and us for supporting him), it attacks DU, and it's going to be used to smear the "usual suspects" who also talk on Facebook.

They are free to use it or not, as they choose. It works for me. I do care what people think of DU, however.

I'm not sure if it makes any difference, but I am a member of Facebook and the first result when I search for "Democratic Underground" is the link I gave above.

Alert on the page you cite.

They'll get rid of it if enough people complain.

Facebook, like DU, has moderators but they can't be expected to catch everything, just like on DU. It needs to be alerted on.
