Question about the Majority Leaders position.
OK, so if the Democrats hold the Senate but Reid loses to that crazy woman, who becomes the Senate Majority Leader?? I can't remember from my civics class. Is it the person with the most seniority? Do the Democrats hold an election? Do they always hold an election, but it is usually assumed the senior most Senator gets the position?

Who would you like to see replace Reid if that happens and why?

1. It is elected. Probably Durbin
Schumer wants it but I think Durbin would prevail

4. Durbin
My joke was the it would next go the the second biggest wimp in the senate.

I want to see Reid gone as leader.

5. I actually believe you are correct.
My post is not a prediction but a possible scenario of what could happen. This is a possibility after all. I also want to understand the pecking order for the Majority Leader position.

6. They'll gather and do head counts to see who has support,
although if Harry retains his seat, the incentive to replace him may be less.

Schumer at one time expressed some interest. Durbin is a strong possibility.

I could live with almost any Democrat but would personally like to see Sheldon Whitehouse.
