Right wing out of state ad in the mail today.
When fascism came to America, it was wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross. Today, it took the form of a full-color, magazine-quality ad in the mail from Faith & Freedom Coalition of Duluth, Georgia asking me to vote against my own interests and in favor of their fellow fascist sympathizers. So what does a group in Duluth, GA care about our Ohio elections? I sent them an e-mail to ask them. How can they afford such lavish mailings without even bothering to weed out secular liberals who vote in every single Democratic primary? I asked them that too. I also thanked them for confirming that the moderate and (in the case of the governor) conservative Democrats I voted for were the best choices.

If you are as curious about these things as I am, feel free to drop them a line. According to their website, they value our feedback and suggestions.

1. Wow, talk about cookie-cutter ideals
Our Principles

* Respect for the sanctity and dignity of life, family, and marriage as the foundations of a free society
* Limited government, lower taxes and fiscal responsibility to unleash the creative energy of entrepreneurs
* Education reform that puts children first
* Help the poor, the needy, and those who have been left behind
* Free markets and free minds to create opportunity for all
* Victory in the struggle with terrorism and tyranny while supporting our democratic allies, including Israel

How easy it is to just take things you think people want to hear and put it in a bulleted list.

Limit government AND help those who have been left behind? Because bank deregulation totally ended up doing that, right? Interesting choice of words, too. "Creative energy of entrepreneurs" sure is a fun way of saying "corporations with more money and less regulation will invest in getting richer while helping no one but themselves."

I wonder if respect for marriage includes divorce, or if they just care about those damned evil gays?
