Melancon/Vitter Debate...

Haven't seen a thread on it, but there were lots of fireworks in the Melancon/Vitter debate tonight...should have seen Vitter squirm and look like a deer in headlights when confronted with the question of whether or not he broke the law in the DC Madame affair...it was priceless!! Melancon isn't the most articulate fellow and isn't the most ideal candidate, but was able to land several solid punches and may have helped himself with older, blue collar folks...won't be enough to help him win, unfortunately, but it was must-see TV as far as I'm concerned...just glad somebody had the balls to look Vitter in the eye and to his face, call him an embarrassment to his family, and the people of Louisiana and the United States.

I can hardly listen to Vitter's grating voice -- as irritating to me as it would be hearing 3" fingernails scraping across a 20-foot chalkboard.

I checked out an article at www.nola.com & Melancon got another good one in about Vitter's "family values". He said after Vitter's madame incident (my choice of words), he couldn't get hired as a police officer, a teacher, or a N.O. municipal employee.

I'm going to watch it later, but your take on it sounds on the money.
