The genisis of today's cash-driven, fact averse "elections"
Edited on Fri Oct-29-10 01:17 PM by ProudDad
Watch the videos...

"The modern political campaign--dominated by advertising tricks, political consultants, "spin doctors," and attack ads on the screen--was invented in this 1934 campaign. It was one of the dirtiest campaigns ever and also marked Hollywood's first all-out plunge into politics, after socialist author Sinclair swept the Democratic primary. Sinclair's End Poverty in California (EPIC) crusade was one of the great mass movements in U.S. history, and the links to today's economic crisis, media trickery and political climate are profound. The cast of characters in this wild and entertaining tale reads like a "Who's Who," from FDR and Hearst to Will Rogers and Katharine Hepburn. Chairman of the GOP campaign? Earl Warren. And so on."

I believe that this was that last real chance at a different path for USAmerica...

Instead we've arrived at the exact destination that the capitalist masters wanted -- fascism; the Corporate State...

1. Wow...And people say America is more left-wing today?
People like Earl Warren, a Republican, would be driven out of the Democratic Party by concern trolls today...And don't get me started on what the GOP woul ddo with them?

3. Actually, Earl Warren was a right-wing republican

back in the day. He was a leader in the attack against Upton Sinclair... And was finally elected Governor of California...

The reason Eisenhower said that appointing Earl Warren Chief Justice was the biggest mistake he made while in office was because once gaining the protection of lifetime tenure, Warren did a 180 on social issues...whoops!
