We will be cleaning up their mess again.
The Dems pulled the U.S economy out of the outhouse after Reagan-Bush fucked everything up last time (while shitheels like Limbaugh kept saying that we were really running on Reagan's economy after they did), and before that Roosevelt came in and cleaned up after Hoover and the great depression.

3. The Dems aren't going to inherit a damn thing in '08 |
|
Frankly I think that they just signed their own death warrant. The anti-war and lefties are going to leave the party in droves, either going third party or staying home. The moderate 'Pugs who signed on in '06 to end the Bush madness are going to go back to the 'Pugs. All this will leave is the DLC, corporatist Dems, and they can't win an election all on their own. It is going to be the same scenario that played out forty years ago. It seems that nobody learns from history.

6. I really have a strong feeling that 2008 will be a 3 party race now. |

Dem, Rethug and a centrist 3rd party. Having a president elected only on a plurality of votes is not gonna be good, folks.

7. Quick..cut the funds.... |

That should do the trick. If you think those pictures of our troops riding around in toyota pickups for lack of humvees were alarming, just wait till you get the republican campaign commercials showing our troops throwing rocks at insurgents while under mortar attack...:-).
It is incumbent for Dems to keep the focus on who is "IN CONTROL" of Iraq. That would be the commander in chief. Come September there had better be demonstrable progress or the Cons will be abandoning their support of the war. The Dems run for the presidency on getting out of Iraq..clearly the party position. It might be more advantageous for the cons to throw in the towel before the election so that the Dems can own the chaotic aftermath. So while folks are knee jerk strategizing, they might want to think about that.
They might also want to question whether they are truly concerned about innocent loss of life or whether they are just anxious to get revenge on Bush.
