Whichever way the elections go, I think all of the BS and commotion is going to continue. I think
sadly this is a divided country and it will go on and on. I hope I'm wrong, but I've never seen this much hostility around elections and I've been voting for decades.

Maybe this is just me being too pessimistic. I can imagine the RW if they don't get their way, temper tantrums all over the place. Fox and the like will be rolling in the profits, the country matters little to the profit makers. Greed runs deep.

1. We better start getting ready for 2012 as soon as this is over.

If we hold any part of the Congress we better not compromise our philosophies away. If a right wing bill comes along that hurts working people, block it, kill it don't fucking pass it or sign it.

Don't do what Bill Clinton did, No NAFTAs, not WorkFare, No DADTs. Just stay positive, run progressive candidates, fight Citizens United, show the country what life under a oligarchy is like!

We have to find a way to counter the right wing noise machine. Somehow we have to teach the tea party fools that they are their own worst enemy.

We need to start communes, community gardens, community kitchens, all kinds of things that get us working together. It could be like the pro civil rights, anti war, anti establishment 60's again.

Us old geezers need to show the young-ans what protests really are.

Most importantfuckingly get out from behind that computer screen and get together in the streets with like minded people.

6. That's what's missing today, the taking to the streets by like minded people standing
Edited on Fri Oct-29-10 08:43 PM by RKP5637
for what you mentioned above. One of the unfortunate strategies I've seen anymore are democrats compromising their values (IMO) by sliding to the right trying to compete with the R's. I think the democrats need to drive a stake in the ground and say this is what we stand for, period.

I don't agree with the DLC stragtey. IMO it's compromised the democrats. Exactly as you said, "Don't do what Bill Clinton did, No NAFTAs, not WorkFare, No DADTs. Just stay positive, run progressive candidates, fight Citizens United, show the country what life under a oligarchy is like!"

2. Unfortunately, I think you are right. Common sense has totally left this country.
If you don't have the police stopping these skirmishes/head stompings, it will be full speed ahead, even if they win.

Imagine the legislation these clowns could pass when they really get in power again...say, 2012. They are scary and their "intelligence" is questionable.

I'm glad most of my life was spent with sane and polite people, not these radicals and bloomin' idiots.

7. I'm beginning to think an element of the RW won't be happy 'till tanks are rolling in
the streets suppressing anyone that does not follow their RW agenda.

3. I'm betting the '68 election was more contentious.
I mean, Thug Mayor Daley and police riots in the streets of Chicago overshadows this year's elections.

We've seen worse.

5. Yeah, those were pretty violent times. Then we had the times with the marching in
robes, burning crosses and all...

8. The bankster's home team looks like the the big "winner" this time around.
The bankster's also own the visiting team, locking down a win-win for banksters regardless of which sock puppet team proves most popular.

10. I'm optimistic. More of the same old, same old will bring change in the long run
Paradoxical I know, but that's how change happens. Even the teabaggers will finally admit they've been screwed at some point.

11. If you want to see the future of the United States, look at Mexico right now.
Edited on Sat Oct-30-10 02:54 PM by roamer65
Mexico is on the edge of civil war and we will be in 5 years as well.

I think the outcome of this election will be nearly 50-50 splits in both houses of Congress and complete paralysis for the next two years. This would fit with the general trend we have seen in the Canadian, Australian and British elections recently.

13. IMO this country has far more problems at home than we chase in the
rest of the world. These arguments in congress are ridiculous and meanwhile the country IMO continues to fall apart. It's really getting absurd. I too think the next 2 years in congress will be paralysis combined with analysis paralysis.
