CrAzY NY Examiner story alleging Conway admits felonies & Rand Paul stompers are law officers
Edited on Fri Oct-29-10 08:39 PM by avaistheone1
The top cop of Kentucky, Attorney General Jack Conway, who is now running for the U.S. senate against Rand Paul, was caught red-handed lying to the press after allegedly warning his drug dealing brother of an impending raid by police. First he said that he was not warned by his top police brass of the impending raid against his brother; then he effectively admitted to lying about this.

Not a word of any of this has reached Kentucky voters through the press in Kentucky.

Instead the local and national press is even now providing cover for Conway with saturation publicity concerning a crazed woman who was restrained by police after she rushed Rand Paul during a debate with apparent mal-intent. While the woman, who was smiling the whole time, was restrained and wrestled to the ground by several officers, a police officer put his foot on her shoulder with what is described as a light pressure. For this the local press is calling her a 'victim' of police brutality. For his part in the coverup, Conway is now calling for an investigation of Rand Paul campaign contributions, particularly those made by the very police officers involved in retsraining the attacking woman.

John Collins, a spokesman for Conway’s campaign, said Paul needs to answer questions like: 'When is it ever OK for two men to wrestle a young woman to the ground, even without the stomping? I think the Paul campaign has to answer for the actions of a whole series of its supporters,” Collins said.

7. I dunno, because we don't have it here locally, but I do know that I did sign up for the online
at one point, to write for them. The pay is crap and they let you write pretty much anything to get page views for ads.

4. Are they fucking serious???
Normally I don't believe anything the NY Examiner or NY Post says, but after what happened at the rally it has some merit. Besides, KY has more thugs than all of DC, NYC, Chicago, Philly, Atlanta, and LA combined!!!!

Well, after Tuesday let's see if Conway and those other rethugs will even have a job and what will they say then?!?

upon rereading, it calls MoveOn volunteer Lauren Valle "the attacking woman".

(just went back into post to underline this choice of verbiage)

Criticism

Examiner.com has been criticized for its lack of verification and fact-checking of stories published on the site,<18> including accusations of plagiarism.<4><19> L.J. Williamson, a writer who was briefly employed by Examiner.com, drew attention to the site's lack of editorial oversight by publishing a series of satirical prank articles,<20> which went unnoticed by Examiner.com's staff until Williamson published what she described as an homage to a well-known satirical piece written by Hunter S. Thompson, in which Thompson claimed that presidential candidate Edmund Muskie showed symptoms of being under the influence of Ibogaine. In Williamson's satirical piece, she claimed that actress Jenny McCarthy advocated Ibogaine as a treatment for autism. Examiner.com staff only noticed and withdrew Williamson's prank stories when lawyers for McCarthy contacted them and demanded that the piece be removed.<21>

Examiner.com is a division of Clarity Media Group, with the primary investor being billionaire businessman Philip Anschutz, owner of Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), Regal Cinemas, and other media and entertainment companies.<3><4><6> Examiner.com has over 55,000 contributors,<2> commonly referred to as "Examiners."

RE: Anschutz:

Political and Christian activism

Often identified as "Christian billionaire Phil Anschutz",<25> he is a Republican donor who supported George W. Bush's administration. He has been an active patron of a number of religious and conservative causes:

* Helped fund Colorado's 1992 Amendment 2, a ballot initiative designed to overturn local and state laws that prohibit discrimination against individuals on the basis of sexual orientation but was invalidated by Romer v. Evans after it passed.<26>
* Helped fund the Discovery Institute, a think tank based in Seattle, Washington that promotes intelligent design and criticizes evolution.<27>
* Supported the Parents Television Council, a group that protests against television indecency.<27>
* Financed and distributed films with Christian themes, such as Amazing Grace and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, for mass audiences through his two film production companies and ownership of much of the Regal, Edwards and United Artists theater chains.
* Financed The Foundation for a Better Life.
* In 2009 Anschutz purchased the conservative American opinion magazine The Weekly Standard from Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation.<28>

13. I live in NY and I never heard of the Examiner.
Unless it's one of those free rags you see piled up in the corner at a coffee shop, underneath a stack of learning annex catalogs and dog walking flyers.

15. Since this is libel can't someone sue and shut this rag down.
I know if it was me I'd have a lawyer there tomorrow morning and shut them down. I bet this will be all over the republican blogs in a heartbeat. Drudge is gonna have it headlined.
