Just heard on the radio that California is warning parents about pot candy... |
|
Apparently, some of this is in pretty packages (even prettier after eating, I assume) and a few little kids have already been hospitalized after eating it by mistake.

2. They need to identify these people..... |
|
....giving these pot treats to kids and send their addresses to me. I'll see of I can come up with a few different costumes and I will deplete them of their goodies before the kiddies can get to them!
A feller's gotta do what a fellers gotta do to keep our kids safe!

Okay not a good thing for kids to be eating pot candy or pot brownies or whatever the adults should be more careful. With medical marijuana the patients now can get it in many forms including food and candy. My only question is why were they hospitalized (that is if you believe the story at all) it's not like they are going to OD or something and as far as I know there is not an 'antidote' for THC. So these people are spending a bunch of money, taking up the doctor's time and hospital resources for what? All these people had to do is give the kids a box of animal cookies (non-pot kind) and put their favorite cartoon on the TV and let em come down on their own. Yes, I am taking for granted that if the adults involved knew enough that they could identify it as 'pot candy' then they knew it wasn't adulterated with anything else.

9. Oh, there is a THC antidote - it is called "time" and "sleep" is a catalyst to the antidote. |
|
Most people THINK an entire bag of Doritos or an entire package of Oreos are also helpful, but in reality they just address the most well-known side-effect of THC consumption.

19. that's probably true, although |
|
I found that ingesting a THC extract had a markedly different effect than smoking. I don't know what the concentration was in the candy, but I experienced pretty intense vertigo, dizziness, impaired vision . . . much more than from smoking. I can imagine a kid getting sick if what they ingested had the same concentration of THC that the pills I took did. Again, I don't know about the candy they're talking about and I agree that the report is probably being used as propaganda against pot.

20. OF COURSE it is propaganda. If were real and nefarious, Nestle would already be selling it. |

This is right up there with the annual 'LSD dealers are putting cartoon characters on their blotter acid to attract children' story. You hear the LSD story at least once a year and it is either outright propaganda or a reporter that doesn't know anything about LSD and draws the wrong conclusions. Yes, some producers of blotter acid do put cartoon characters on their stuff but is a form of 'brand' recognition. As in 'have you tried any of that Scooby Doo blotter it's good stuff'. Also, this is the do all and end all emotional approach of the propagandists 'the kids, oh the poor kids we have to restrict what adults can do to protect the poor kids'. The other thing is people have been making pot brownies forever and I am sure a few 'kids' have eaten some of them by mistake and I haven't hear of any child death due to marijuana intoxication.

15. Why? Just repeating something I heard on the news. It's no different than... |
|
those warnings we got for years about the razor blades in apples.
(I don't know anyone who ever found a razor blade in an apple, but a lot of people ripped up apples looking.)

7. 'The radio'. Not a station or show, just 'the radio'. Well then! |
|
If you heard it on the radio! You say California is doing this 'warning' so it should be public information if the State issued a 'warning'. So why don't you find it ans show us that warning?

17. Yeah-- just on the radio. Flippng through the stations to get a traffic report... |
|
and caught this. I don't have little kids, live in California, or even live in an area where little kids can find my house trick-or-treating so I have see no reason to bother looking any further into the story.
Feel free to goggle it to your heart's delight.

10. Cool, I can put that with my collection of laced candy. |
|
Right next to the candy laced with LSD, Ecstasy, PCP, meth, . . . Oh, wait, I don't have such a collection because there has not been a verified case of such a thing ever happening.

13. This is apparently a way to take medical marijuana |
|
Which would make sense--if you've got asthma you couldn't smoke pot, but eating pot candy would be okay.
I don't think someone's going to come home tonight to be told, "We ran out of Snickers bars but we're fine, I gave out your pot bonbons."
