Kendrick Meek Refused To Endorse Three Fellow Democrats In 2008
Edited on Sat Oct-30-10 12:58 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
Wasserman Schultz Under Siege from Liberal Bloggers

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) is getting brutally walloped in the liberal blogosphere for refusing to endorse the Democratic challengers to three potentially vulnerable GOP incumbents in Florida.

Liberal bloggers are irate that Wasserman Schultz, who co-chairs the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's Red-to-Blue program, has declined to endorse the Democrats running to unseat Cuban-American Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Lincoln Diaz-Balart and his brother, Mario Diaz-Balart.

Wasserman Schultz -- along with Rep. Kendrick Meek (D-Fla.), who also refuses to endorse challengers to the three Cuban-American Republicans -- says she doesn't want to stab GOP members of her own delegation in the back.

Did someone say something about party loyalty?

2. No
It means Meek and his supporters lack the moral high ground to criticize DUERS on this board who breached party loyalty when Meek himself is guilty of it.

It's actually worse in Meek's case because the Balart brothers and Ileana-Ros-Lehiten represent the most reactionary elemnents in the Cuban American community and the Democratic party has been desperately trying to replace them with moderate Cuban American Democrats from the same community. It's no coincidence that Marco Rubio comes from that same putrid pool.

6. How Is Meek, Crist, Or Rubio Any Different?
They all seem to support one another except when it's not in their interest or when they are running against one another.

Crist supported Rubio when he was running against a Democrat. Meek supported Lincoln Diaz- Balart when he was running against a Democrat. Meek suported Mario Diaz Balart when he was running against a Democrat. Meek supported Ileana Ros-Lehiten when she was running against a Democrat.

3. THANK YOU DSB... Too Many, And I Really Mean Too Many Just Aren't
aware of so much that goes on down here in Florida. Perhaps if they actually lived here and have been subjected to what has gone on, then MAYBE more would understand how "unfair" what they feel "fairness" is.

Meek IS NOT Liberal, nor much of a Progressive, and he has much in his OWN closet that others just don't know about. Not only that, The State Democratic Party here, at this point in time most probably won't win ANY medals or HONORS.

THEY should have known what they were doing, but so many times they simply come off as incompetent! This state has been laughed at, poked fun of and been the butt of many jokes. I live here, we ARE natives of this state, but I'm feeling let down.

I DID campaign against Crist when he ran for Governor, but I must say I have been surprised at how moderate he has been. Do I have any assurance he will be Independent, not really. But I do know I'm not happy with Meek as the Democratic candidate here. And I don't doubt that the STATE PARTY had their fingers all over this one.

I have NEVER crossed over, but this is one time I did. It is what it is, and we MUST STOP the Tea-Bagger "golden boy" of Jebby, Marco Rubio. He is but the stepping stone for Jebby's quest to walk into the White House. THE BUSHIES have a real sleazy MACHINE down here and voting for RUBIO will only make it worse. Still, I have no assurance that this election isn't ALREADY rigged. But, I stand my ground, I voted for Crist and it may be a crap shoot, still I really feel Meek is to the right of me.

4. I'm Still Pissed At The Two DUERS Who Lambasted Be For Making The Case For Crist
Edited on Sat Oct-30-10 01:17 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
I ended up voting for Meek because he had a (D) after his name and I concluded that neither he nor Crist could beat Rubio so I might as well vote for the Democrat. But I was sympathetic to DUERS who thought Crist was the only alternative to Rubio who had a realistic chance of winning the election.

One DUER told me I was unworthy of my handle and another DUER accused me of voting for Crist. That's rich. He has no idea of what I did in the voting booth ,not that I would lie, but we have Meek on the record as saying he actually supports Repukes.

Ms. Schultz and Mr. Meek should apologize to every Florida Democrat that has tried to break the lock that reactionary Cuban American Republicans have on our state's politics as well as our nation's policy toward Cuba by supporting moderate to progressive Cuban American Democrats in their battle against them.

8. I Voted For Meek. I Would Do It Again.
I suspect Rubio is going to win by a large enough amount that it will demonstrate that Crist couldn't beat him the way the race was structured.

But I can certainly understand those who thought Crist could stop Rubio and that Crist was preferable to the Tea Bagger and voted accordingly. They didn't deserve to be insulted.
