Seattle sanity rally draws between 2,000 and 3,000

Between 2,000 and 3,000 people turned out in Westlake Park in downtown Seattle this morning with the hope of ‘restoring sanity’ to politics in the U.S.

The local rally coincides with a national rally in Washington DC organized by Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart.

Stewart insisted his Rally to Restore Sanity, just days before the congressional elections Tuesday, wasn't about politics.

Local rally organizer Jim Baum, a Maple Valley farmer, said the local event was open to everyone whether they are liberal or conservative.

"We want to give ordinary people who are tired of the lunacy that has come to pervade politics in the run-up to the November 2 mid-terms a chance to speak out," Baum said.
