Rally Crowd---pssst, did you notice something????
Intelligence. One should not judge a book by it's cover (Mama done said); but the difference in that crowd compared to Tea Party hate fests, assorted nuts who showed up at Dem town halls, and rabid clowns that come to drool over Ms. 'Betcha, was like the difference between reading a college text on physics compared to Bush's favorite, "My Pet Goat". It's frightening to think that we are about to turn this country over AGAIN to the "My Pet Goat" crowd.........seriously, the intelligent are letting the "I'm ignorant and damn proud of it" crowd rule this country. The fittest are not surviving.

2. Not only intelligence, but a distinct lack of fugly.
Living a life of hate and fear eventually takes its toll.

3. I noticed some genius at WMATA decided to single-track the Green LIne
And I noticed that it was impossible to get any farther east on the Mall than 9th st.

I hope they keep the video up online because I would love to actually see what the rally I attended was like at some point :)

6. It took us 1.5 hours to get there once we entered a yellow line stop
and on the way home a train malfunctioned so we had to get off and try again.

It was great to see such a diversity of ages, races, etc. at one rally. But I agree with the OP - most seemed intelligent. A few people did not use the best judgment (in bringing pets and very small children to a huge rally).

There were a lot of federal resources for the inauguration so they could handle the crowd more effectively.

4. Some of my favorite signs there:
(the link at DU to the talkingpointsmemo slide show showed a lot of my favorites -- here are a few more:)

1) God Loves You (But I'm His Favorite)
2) I'm Mad as Hell and I'm Not Going to Take it Any More, just as soon as I can work a few things out in my schedule

11. So that is what the "Mad as Hell" sign said
The person kept twisting it and I was dying to see it's whole content. Hey, the rest of you, lay off the "scooter" crowd. We were there, too....okay, so it surprised me, too..........

12. Okay, punks
for the last time: We Old fucking farts were there, too! You probably didn't notice because they probably were looking for a place to sit down! (But I was surprised to see a number of them). I didn't get the music, but what the hell. I did get the ET thing though (oh, wait..he was around when my kids were little).

16. There were a few signs and
plenty of speechifying that I realized were way too subtle for teabaggers to understand. I think that may be one of the problems. What we understand on subtler levels in our conversations without even trying just sails right over teabaggerati heads. We don't mean to do it, but it just naturally happens.

Imagine everyone laughing at a joke you don't get and it happening a lot. We don't have to try to make these people feel foolish. They just do because of the fallout from our language and conversations.
