Zach Galifianakis smokes pot live on Real Time with Bill Maher
http://stash.norml.org/zach-galifianakis-smokes-pot-live-on-real-time-with-bill-maher

By "Radical" Russ Belville on October 29, 2010

I don’t have cable TV anymore, so my viewing choices on free TV are limited. Tonight on this Friday before Election Day there was ABC News 20/20 with an exposé on teenage heroin addicts (guess what drug they tried first!) and CBS with a crime drama of a teenage heroin dealer in the high school. I guess it’s a bit more subtle anti-Prop 19 electioneering than LA Sheriff Baca warning parents about marijuana candy, but you can hardly blame the networks… that Big Pharma advertising revenue is fairly important for staying in business.

8. What point was he trying to make?
What a selfish jerk he is?

I can see those who NEED marijuana for medical purposes, and this can't be helpful.

9. This how I feel about this. The medical people in many states aren't getting the help
they need because the stoners out there just want to get high so they can sit around making fart jokes all day.

11. The medical people in many states aren't getting the help
they need because ignorance remains rampant on the subject as can be seen by your "get high so they can sit around making fart jokes all day." Prohibition didn't work in the 1930's and THOUSANDS were killed over it. You'd think we would have learned that lesson but nope, here we are, in 2010, and supposedly "liberal" people continue to spread the myths and the racism that goes with it.

16. The racism in the marijuana debate?
Fill me on what the hell you're talking about so I can argue appropriately. Thanks.

20. I'm guessing the poster is referring to the well known fact that MJ laws are disproportionately...

enforced against minorities, mostly African Americans and Hispanics.

Add in the mandatory sentencing for drug crimes laws and we can now incarcerate large numbers of our 'undesirables.'

Legalize MJ and we'll have to let 'them' walk free among us. :scared:

We never seem to learn. America seems to be one big loop where the same mistakes are repeated endlessly. All that's required is some new packaging. Robber baron economics becomes 'supply side' economics. Prohibition becomes the 'war on drugs.'

23. Funny
The drunks staggering around, slurring their speech, beating their wives, and being generally obnoxious haven't stopped doctors from being able to tell their patients a little wine now and then is good for their hearts.

I'll take the fart jokes of a stoner over a nasty, belligerent drunk any day. I don't see any of it as a legitimate justification for Prohibition.

10. Do you know that he DOESN'T have a MM license?
Are you a medical professional that can, just by sight, accurately determine whether or not a person "needs" a particular medication?

12. How do you know he why he uses it? You do not.
In addition, that show comes from California, and on their ballots on Tuesday is across the board legalization. Not about 'need' just about legal. So that was a specific political action, directed at an actual piece of legislation, to be voted on by millions in a matter of days. Selfish? In what respect, Charlie?
Those States that do not allow access to Medical Marijuana do so out of ignorance and contempt for their fellow man. They are the selfish, priggish, mendacious jerks who refuse to allow chemo patients to gain relief among other things. Yet you call out an activist artist trying to make things better just prior to an election on that same subject? I simply do not get your point at all.

And you are opposed to legalization in the US. For some reason.

21. As he states in the video, he does it because there is still a taboo.
He lit it up to show that it is no big deal. He wasn't talking about medical; he was talking about the perception of marijuana and users. He's not selfish, he was performing and there was a little bit of smoke. He wasn't at a park in in the ICU ferfuxsake.
