2. Beck's rally wasn't a tenth the size of this one.

Look at the aerial photos of Becks rally and take into account that about half the area or more is taken up by the reflecting pool. Plus beck ralliers had blankets and lawn chairs spread out. This rally was solid wall to wall people. What the photos don't show are the thousands who were packed just as tightly on side streets.

by people continuing to try to get in. It took a long time to "escape" also, because of how tightly packed everyone was. And you couldn't get cell phone or text service because so many people were trying to locate each other with their phones.

that this crowd was ten times the size of the Beck crowd - and I wasn't exaggerating. I was at the March for Women's Lives in 2004 where there was a crowd of a million plus. This rally had a fuckload of people, as someone else coined it in another thread, even comparing it to the March for Women's Lives (which got zero coverage, btw, except for C-Span).

Thanks for the welcome! OKC has it's share of religious right wackoism, but it's a great progressive American city with a lot of potential. Bricktown was built with (OMG!)sales tax money, along with private investment, but it was ultimately the people of OKC who got it done.
