Goodling broke down over firings

By LAURIE KELLMAN, Associated Press Writer
36 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - Monica Goodling, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales' former
White House liaison, broke down in tears in a colleague's office as a furor
rose about her department's firings of eight federal prosecutors, according
to interview excerpts released Tuesday.

"'All I ever wanted to do was serve this president and this administration
and this department,'" Goodling said during a March 8 conversation, according
to Associate Deputy Attorney General David Margolis.

His account is expected to be part of a hearing Wednesday at which Goodling
is expected to testify under a grant of immunity.

"She was certainly shaken to her core," he added during the interview May 1.
"She thought her career was over, or at least her career in Justice."

If so, she was right.

5. Yes...I agree, immunity goes out the window if she does not
come up w/the truth, and documents are part of the truth.

Should be interesting tomorrow...:)

And yes, her career is over, if there ever was one anyway...:D

3. Cry us a river Monica.
She should have put her desire to serve the constitution and rule of law and the American public FIRST AND FOREMOST - before her desire to serve 'this president' and 'this administration'. Especially when there were conflicts of interest.

But that's obvious isn't it?

6. Why are we coddling these people?
Slap her in irons and haul her ass off to jail for contempt of Congress and Obstruction. Of course toss in some "excuse me" and "please" and "may I's"

Why have the power of subpoenas, if we are afraid to use it with the full power it has?

7. You will note that "the American people"
Edited on Tue May-22-07 06:47 PM by MN ChimpH8R
are not mentioned among those she wanted to "serve."

Throw her into the fucking pokey until she produces every last document. That fifth tier so called law school you went to is not going to enhance your employment prospects even if you stay out of the slammer.

"You won't find the answer on those cheap shoes, Monica..."

8. Well then turn of the documents you were asked for and maybe your part will
go away a lot faster, oh yeah Monica--there's no crying in corruption, it just looks pathetic, don't Duke Cunningham yourself for the rest of your life, give up the docs, change your name and start a new life somewhere.

14. Will she cry when she takes the 5th?
She wouldn't turn in the docs requested, I'm not so sure she'll have anything to say either.
