if those don't work try google news - don't know why the others aren't clicking through http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&q=Robert+Jones%2C+a+70-year-old+cancer+patient+who+lives+in+Las+Vegas&scoring=n

Jones received a letter from the local housing administrator Oct. 12 telling him even though medical cannabis has been legalized by the state, marijuana remains illegal at the federal level.

The letter told Jones he was being terminated from the Section 8 housing voucher program effective Nov. 30, but the administrator did offer him the right to appeal the decision, which he has done.

snip

Jones said he pays $244 per month rent on his apartment and the cost would be $400 per month without the assistance.

snip

Jones, who also has a license to grow cannabis in his home, said he has also faced break-ins and harassment from the police who have confiscated his pipes and plants.

I am sure we will all sleep good tonight knowing this dangerous criminal won't be suckling at the federal breast any much longer :sarcasm:

:nuke:

what the good, in the name of all that is holy, is it to keep medicine from sick people like this so the poor things aren't trying to puke up their toenails? it is vile, it is craven, to deny them something that would ease their suffering. doctors can legal prescribe drugs that are highly addictive or increase risk of suicide but they can't prescribe something that gives people the munchies and goofy for a bit. WHY???

2. There are three significant side effects of cannabis use among seriously ill patients.
They are prone to eat too much, talk too much and laugh too much.

Oh yeah, they are also at risk of less pain and nausea, and of more restful sleep.

3. Gil Kerlikowske speaks for Obama on "drugs"...
Kerlikowske and Obama agree that the only drugs which should not be illegal are alcohol and tobacco, by some strange coincidence those are the two drugs Obama uses personally.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gil_Kerlikowske

Richard Gil Kerlikowske (born November 23, 1949) is the current Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, a position generally referred to as the United States "Drug Czar". He assumed office on May 7, 2009.

(...)

In a May 22, 2009 interview on KUOW radio, he said any drug 'legalization' would be "waving the white flag" and that "legalization is off the the charts when it comes to discussion, from my viewpoint" and that "legalization vocabulary doesn't exist for me and it was made clear that it doesn't exist in President Obama's vocabulary." Specifically about marijuana, he said, "It's a dangerous drug" and about the medical use of marijuana, he said, "we will wait for evidence on whether smoked marijuana has any medicinal benefits - those aren't in."

4. check my Icon

My Icon is a riot cop beating a MMJ patient. the "rules" are nothing more than a reason to discriminate against those of us that prefer a medicine that is safer than Pharmaceuticals and alcohol.

7. This is what the 'War on Drugs" is about, creating a PERMANENT UNDERCLASS.
If you are caught using drugs you are not allowed to get government assistance.

11. e-letter to congressperson to Reschedule Marijuana so docs can prescribe it - HR 2835
Support the Medical Marijuana Patient Protection Act (H.R. 2835) - reschedule marijuana, allowing doctors nationwide to prescribe it to patients in need. It would also create protections in federal law for states that wish to protect medical marijuana patients.

https://secure2.convio.net/mpp/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=339

please click through and if you agree sign & send the letter to your congresperson and pass link on to others.
