The real courage would have been to let the veto ride. |
|
And the real cowardness was to cave in for fear that the dems in congress would be seen as not supporting the troops, etc. For that tiny perceived political advantage, they betrayed us all today. There is not one person who really believes that the troops would have been left in Iraq without food, weapons and funds if they had just let the veto ride. Maybe, just maybe somewhere the money would be found by the admin to at least bring them all home now. If not, we could have raised enough money right here at DU to fly every soldier in Iraq home by commmercial airways by the end of the year. This is just political bullshit. I have been a strong democrat all of my life, but never have I felt as betrayed and dishonored by my party. When they gave up and caved in, did they think it was acceptable that thousands and thousands of humans would die while they chose to wait it our until September? And for what? I do not know if ever in my life I have been this angry. Thanks for letting me rant it into words. I needed that.

Unfortunately, the Faux viewers probably do.. The 28% backwash probably do... And I'll tell you the truth... With this sociopath at the wheel.. I half believe that he would do that to them rather than curtail this Iraq disaster...

4. The War Remains in REPUBLICAN and GWB zHands. |

We are in a Quagmire of Quagmires in Iraq. Trying to extricate us is going to be a messy job. At this point the Dems do not want to start the process. Today, yes it is disheartening.
In the long run the Dems win.

I'm feeling pretty angry and shitty myself after this all came down. I don't know if what I'm feeling is betrayal or anger or just exasperation. I was hoping for more of a united stand against this criminal enterprise that is suffocating our liberties while stealing the oil wealth of an entire nation and people. I just do not know what the fuck it will take to wake the sleepwalking masses into awareness of what is happening right under their noses. I swear at this point, if shithead declared himself king, most people would just shrug their shoulders and go.. um, OK.
