Edited on Sun Oct-31-10 08:08 AM by marmar
A woman attempting to slide down a stairway railing fell to her death Saturday night at a Downtown hotel.

The 23-year-old woman attempted to slide down the railing at the mezzanine level of a (Palmer House Hilton) hotel at 122 S. Wabash Ave. and fell to the basement level about 10:30 p.m., police said.

Police said the woman suffered head trauma and was dead on the scene.

2. Stayed there a few times, awesome older hotel. Not sure from the story
Where precisely the stairs were they are talking about, guess it is attached to a ball room there.

We should ban halloween parties since she would be alive had it not been for one.

5. Yep. There's a long way to fall in that open stairway area.

9. Yep, inertia.
I'd be surprised if someone could successfully make it down while sober. But at least sober you could bail out to the stairs rather to the ... basement floor.
