Would it surprise you that Pres. Obama was supported big-time by those polled at the Sanity rally?
October 31, 2010

Obama gets 90% approval rating

(Agence France-Presse) - With three days to go to the US mid-term elections, President Barack Obama's approval rating soared to 90 per cent on Saturday - but only among the tens of thousands who gathered in Washington for a rally hosted by two liberal comics. Most of the people who participated in text-message poll
conducted among the estimated 200,000 who turned out for the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear hosted by funnymen Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, said that they support Obama and want his administration to focus aggressively on a jobs-creation agenda.

An overwhelming majority, 90 per cent, approved of the President, and more than half, 56 per cent, approved of him strongly, the poll found.

An overwhelming majority of the people who attended the rally said they are likely to vote for Democratic Party candidates in Tuesday's elections, the poll found.

3. she probably took the 'fear' part of the rally seriously
Happens to wing-nuts all the time with Colbert . . . I wouldn't be surprised if she though he was cheering her on with his video montage.

2. No, it wouldn't surprise me at all. That's the "sanity" part of
the rally.

7. I dunno
It occurred to me that the tone surrounding the progressively-depressed, WH-adverse conversations here brightened to the rally. I think some folks will find this surprising. Others not, I'm sure. Rhetorical . .

13. in the poll
. . . they say they intend to vote Democratic. I believe they will, judging by their commitment to this rally.

14. Yes if they will give up a Saturday to get to Washinton DC, they will get to the polls on Tuesday.
Point of your OP is quite interesting. Thanks.

15. And I am thinking that if they really cared about the outcome
they all would have been home helping with GOTV.

I am puzzled about the timing of this event.

16.  I pray you are corrrect. They did NOT vote downline in 2008.
Many ballots were only marked for Obama. We lost many really good folks in 2008 in my state as the result of non-votes. I blame that on the complete lack of GOTV my state party did but this time, there was an effort, at least in select races. And there was a better general effort.
