I'm resigned to the fact that IF Americans are stupid enough
to take the hands of the government out of the sane and give to the insane--then there is NO hope for this country.

then I choose not to answer a vague question.

12. End Times:
The End Time, End Times, or End of Days are the eschatological writings in the three Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) and in doomsday scenarios in various other non-Abrahamic religions. In Christianity, the End Times are often depicted as a time of tribulation that precedes the Second Coming of the Christian "saviour" or a "hoped-for deliverer", Jesus, the Christian Messiah, who will usher in the Kingdom of God and bring an end to suffering and evil. In Islam, Yawm al-Qiyāmah "the Day of Resurrection" or Yawm ad-Din "the Day of Judgement", Allah's final assessment of humanity, is preceded by the end of the world. In Judaism the term "End of Days" is taken from the Tanakh, Numbers 24:4, as a reference to the Messianic era and the Jewish belief in the coming of Mashiach and the World to Come.<1> Various other religions also have eschatological beliefs associated with turning and redemption.

16. Question
Does this mean that we are all stupid? Even those of us who aren't voting for any of the teabaggers? I can't speak for others, but I am an American and while I never claimed to be the smartest guy in the world, I am reasonably intelligent and sort of resent being called "stupid" by someone like you.
Maybe people like you should stop and think before you make blanket statements about everybody here in the USA being stupid.
Oh wait, I get it now. You aren't American and as such, you are smarter than the rest of us. Oh, you are American? Never mind.

28. OK so vote Republican, because you resent being called stupid
GEez are you that sensitive that you had to take the OP personally? When it was clearly directed at society in general?

Yes, people here are stupid in high degrees. It doesn't mean everyone is. But we have a lot of stupid people. or Reagan and the Bushes would never have been President, and people like Palin wouldn't be able to win a local race.

We have people who like to be self deluded rather than just look at the facts. In great enough numbers for someone like Christine O'Donnell to get a Senate nomination. We have to admit there is something wrong with our culture and educational system and values. How could such a person even be a contender for a major federal office?

Edited on Sun Oct-31-10 05:02 PM by Bluzmann57
Ok I did. Nowhere in it did I say I'd vote republican. The op indicated that all Americans are stupid if the tea party takeover happens. Try some reading comprehension sometime. Even a dumbass like me is that smart.
Not all Americans are stupid. Period. But I sometimes worry about those who make generalized statements. There could be some stupidity there, or at least some ignorance, which is not neccesarily stupidity. Now I'm going to go to a well known rib joint and eat some food that has been featured nationally on a stupid tv channel, the Food Network. Thank you and peace to you. Don't forget to vote Tuesday if you haven't already done so.

25. I won't believe them
all the people I talk to are voting for the Dems. What about you???? Have your family and friends changed???? Have they been polled??? Have you been polled???? I find that most of the polls are done in repug districts or districts where they have a lot of Independents (former repugs). Their numbers not ours!!!!!!!!

36. Oh but their's is???
None of the questions I asked have you answered. Thats my point. If no one asks and no one answers how do they get their numbers. From their constituency. Not ours!!!! We may lose some congressional seats, but not to the degree that they are predicting. If you have not been polled and intend on voting or have voted they are not speaking for you unless you are a Dem voting the other way.

39. I was polled once about 6 months ago by Gallop. Which I found interesting since I have an unlisted
number. The poll had nothing to do with the election, but on how I thought the administration was doing compared to bush

I have already voted, and of course I voted Democratic without hesitation

No one else I know has been polled.

The accuracy of polling is dependent on how they do the sampling, the truthfulness of those giving the answers, however, they have also added certain criteria into their models which include "likely voters"

Some use models assume that certain groups are more or less motivated to vote

What is disturbing is that the MSM and some pollsters have been insidiously representing these polls as the actual outcome of the election, which it is not. It is only representative at that moment, not the final results, though I believe the way it is presented it could demoralize people not to vote

40. exactly!!!!!!!
this is why I say what I do. Not to be mean or cold just the facts. They are trying to lead you with a false perception. They think if you hear it enough it will be a lost cause. But in the Democratic Party it should be the alarms going off in the fire station. And I hope it is. Because these fools are playing with fire.
