Poll question: Have you changed your party affiliation since Democrats took control of congress? |
|
Seein' some more talk about how the Democratic party has failed its supporters, etc. because of the reporting that is being done concerning Democratic plans regarding Iraq funding. So let's how many people have actually have switched party registration in the wake of the Democratic Party's sweep into narrow control of congress.

3. I'm registered dem and haven't changed... |

...but that doesn't mean I'm not disgusted. But being disgusted with the democrats has been a regular occurrence since Clinton helped turn the party into a corporate sex doll.

5. I've been a registered Democrat since 1965 but I owe NO allegience to any party. |

"I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever, in religion, in philosophy, in politics, or in anything else, where I was capable of thinking for myself. Such an addiction is the last degradation of a free and moral agent. If I could not go to heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all." --Thomas Jefferson to Francis Hopkinson, 1789.
"Were parties here divided merely by a greediness for office,...to take a part with either would be unworthy of a reasonable or moral man." --Thomas Jefferson to William Branch Giles, 1795

I was an independent with no party affiliation for my entire voting life, although most of my votes went to the Democratic Party, since they were often closer to my positions than other choices.
I was an independent, but became a Democrat in January of 2003. I'm not a happy Democrat. I have less confidence in the party after 4 years as a Democrat than I did during the 25 years I was an independent. I am a Democrat. I will be a Democrat for awhile yet. If the party continues as it has the last 4 years, I'll probably re-register as an independent once more. I'll give it another year or two, and see what happens.

I've been a Democrat since I was four years old, officially since I turned 18. But after 6 months of a "Democratic" Congress, I have no choice but to switch to Independent.

because I'm so pissed at the lack of spine in elected Democrats. They talk big and deliver zilch.
