Palin for President? Not Much Support, Poll Finds
Edited on Sun Oct-31-10 02:21 PM by sabrina 1
A few days ago I saw a couple of TV pundits talking seriously about Sarah Palin running for president in 2012. They showed clips of an interview with her being asked about it. In the clip, a teaser for the 'interview' she was shown an article saying she probably would run. She giggled and claimed she had not seen it before. I think that interview is 'coming up' somewhere next week.

If she is planning to run the only possible reason has to be for the money she and others would make. Because according to polls, she doesn't stand a chance.

Palin for President? Not Much Support, Poll Finds

Sarah Palin said this week she'd run for president in 2012 "if there's nobody else to do it." But a new ABC News/Washington Post poll suggests her candidacy wouldn't be very popular.
The telephone survey taken Oct. 25-28 of 1,202 adults found that two-thirds of registered voters say the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate is unqualified for the job, and more than half continue to rate her unfavorably overall, ABC News said. The poll has a 3.5-point margin of error.

From the same link, a report from ABC:

"Palin appears to have gained little luster from the success of the Tea Party political movement with which she'd aligned: Just 39 percent of registered voters see her favorably, the most basic measure of a public figure's popularity. That's essentially the same as her lows, 37 percent, last winter and spring. Even fewer, just 27 percent, see her as qualified for the presidency."

I doubt those numbers will stop her. But if the media would just ignore this irrelevant woman and stop making a mockery of this democracy by pretending to take seriously these clowns who are far more suited to reality TV or the Jerry Springer Show, they might eventually stop using our electoral process to enrich themselves.

Matt Damon's reaction to her says it perfectly. For those who never saw his opinion of a Palin presidency you can see it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6urw_PWHYk

'Terrifying, absurd' a few of the words to describe how he felt about it. That we have come to the point where it could even be a possibility shows how far we have sunk, he says. And it looks like he's in the majority.

Now, could everyone just stop paying attention to her so we can get on with the business of this country?

1. they've got two years
of unlimited money and unlimited free exposure via Fox "News" to hammer the point home to people who think Obama is a Muslim, who think their taxes went up under him instead of down, who think vidder is just fine, etc,...shouldn't be too hard to turn those numbers around. Brace for the unrelenting barrage of bullshit....

2. people in the Republican Party do not support her.
Even during the summer of 2009, the pundits were telling their audience on Fox that they needed to wake up and support her. The reason for supporting her: Why, she is the candidate that we liberals fear and hate the most!

But people across the board fear/hate her as she is lacking any type of knowledge of how to act, and we all know she couldn't even last out one full term as governor. In other words:

Americans as a whole cannot stand the thought of her holding office

It's nothing personal - I sure wouldn't mind having to deal with her if she was, say, the interior designer for the local day care center. But she lacks experience, know how, and her IQ doesn't seem in the range that denotes a person of caliber.

5. What are ex-governors made of?
Ego and spite
& political fright.

That's what ex-governors are made of.

She's possibly in a position to mess up the outcome for the Republicans but I don't think President Obama has much to worry about. She's as dumb as she is mean, and she's real mean.

During the interview on the Rachel Maddow show, People up in Alaska don't like a quitter. In a place where one has to survive every day in harsh conditions..people there do not quit. I don't think you have to live in harsh conditions to appreciate that sentiment. The fact she quit being governor,...well could you imagine her saying.. "Ah, ya know? I don't want to be President anymore..See ya!!"

We would all be Mooseburger then..

7. DU has been obsessed with Palin for 2 years now, ever since McCain picked her.
Obama gave a great acceptance speech, but what you read here the next day was overwhelmingly Palin, Palin, Palin, with lots and lots of new thread with posters all convinced they had something new and clever to say about her that had not been said.

After 2 years it is still the same with so many falling all over every word she utters.

8. And this is the first time I have spoken about her and hope that
since even Karl Rove, who thought Bush was presidential material thinks she is not, that soon she will fade into oblivion. Which is far more likely to happen if the media stops talking about her and everyone else ignores her from now on.
