23. At least. Don't forget lawn chairs took up a lot of space at Beck's rally.

3. Metro set a record
with 825,437 trips. I think there were a lot more than 215,000 there.

14. I can think of a few possible reasons:
More white people had the money to travel across country than people of color; more local people of color people work jobs without benefits so couldn't afford to take the time off, more white people watch Stewart/Colbert than do people of color... that kind of stuff.

15. So?
We need real political rallies, not comedy shows.

Actually, I would be caught at one of those things. I have more useful things to do with my time, like play golf and get drunk. But, nobody was harmed, so who really cares?

17. that wasn't a real political rally?
could have fooled me.

all of the real political rallies i've seen have had about as much or less impact as this comedy show. this IS politics in america today, you had better get used to it.

I heard that a couple days ago. :eyes:

19. I'll bet you didn't hear it until,
it was broadcast that the Stewart/Colbert rally was bigger, eh?

Typical repug tactic, if it shows they're in the minority or wrong or anything bad, it isn't important.

(to them)...

21. It was bigger than that. A friend of mine was stuck on one of the side streets
leading into the mall. There were thousands of others there with him with signs and whatnot that couldn't get anywhere close to the main even because there just wasn't any more room.

22. If the polling for the elections tomorrow are estimated the same way the MSM estimated these numbers
we will have a good day tomorrow.

I heard about the BecKKK rally every day for a week on NPR, but only heard one 2 minute story about the Stewart/Colbert rally. They spent more time on the World Series this morning (and it isn't even over yet) than they did on the rally over the weekend.

The only reason I listen to them at all in the morning is the alternatives are even worse.

The sad thing is I remember how much I loved NPR 20 years ago.
