Bin Laden intel declassified ahead of commencement
So, the blivet needed some good talking points, so he 'created' them. Sigh. I'm sure the Coasties will be just thrilled at his presence.

Bin Laden intel declassified ahead of commencement.

“President Bush, trying to defend his war strategy, declassified intelligence Tuesday asserting that Osama bin Laden ordered a top lieutenant in early 2005 to form a terrorist cell that would conduct attacks outside Iraq — and that the United States should be the top target.”

Frances Fragos Townsend, the White House homeland security adviser, said the intelligence bolsters the Bush administration’s contention that al-Qaida wants to use Iraq as a staging area to launch terrorist attacks around the world, including the United States. (…)

Townsend disclosed the information to The Associated Press and other news agencies in advance of Bush’s commencement speech Wednesday at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Bush is expected to emphasize the continuing threat of terrorism and recount steps taken by his administration to prevent attacks.

2. Wow, imagine if Bin Laden didn't have Iraq to launch attacks
against us. I mean, could he have pulled off 9/11 otherwise? Ummm wait a minute.....

5. "We're Fighting Them Over There So They Can Attack Us Over Here"
Yeah, I dare him to summarize that bullshit "declassification" in that way in front of the Coasties :eyes:

4. you and me both....
I remember awhile back Lukery was posting threads about that. Trying to encourage us all to contact Waxman and others to have her publicly testify. Lately though, there's been little mention of it.

6. George W. bUsh bragging yet again how HE aided OBL and left Iraq open
to terrorists.

As the man who ignored all the warnings that 911 was coming, as the man who ran and hid after the 911 attacks, as the man who said he "really didn't care" about Osama bin Laden, as the man who still, years later, hasn't caught Osama bin Laden, one would think George W. bUsh would at the very least have enough sense to not be bragging about the terrorist haven he's created in Iraq.

8. That's what i've been thinking throughout this report
Seems to be awfully risky to say this stuff, politically speaking of course. It can't be just me asking, "So, why haven't we caught him again?" And the timing of the claims, all AFTER we were in Iraq. Won't it leave regular people asking the same questions? Like, if Saddam had ties to Al Quaida, why was it 2005/2006 until Osama set up a group in Iraq? How could he set up this group right under our noses? It just seems strange to me, that he's reminding everyone of his failure to find Osama.
