Just opened today's mail. Begging letter from the Democratic Congressional Campaign |
|
Committee. Some dumb 'survey' and a pitch for contributions. I threw away the survey and attached this little note to the donation coupon: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "You must be shitting me. I and a majority voted in November to GET a change...and what has happened? The spineless Democrats have caved in once again to the Bush Cabal. Bent over praying for a reacharound. It's the same old thing with a different label. I would take up smoking and light my cigs with money before I will ever send any more to you spineless bastards. Karl Schneider Wagoner, OK" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And I didn't use my own stamp...the little nudge on the return envelope says "Your First Class stamp will help Democrats move America Forward" :puke:

"Bent over praying for a reacharound."
I hope there are enough such responses for somebody in charge to get the hint.

3. My S.O. made a similar declaration to a telephone solicitation |
|
Her last words were...when the Dems vote in a manner consistent with my positions I'll consider sending money.

4. Good for you. I've been on the phone for 2 hours to Congress critters. |
|
I told them virtually the same thing: it's your war now, Democrats.

5. So you're trying to convince people here not to donate to the Democrats? |
|
Are all -- or even the majority -- of Democrats in Congress "spineless"? Or is it that a) Bush holds most of the cards; b) we have some spineless or ineffective leaders in the party; and c) the Democrats only have a slim majority?

Pelosi and Reid are HUGE disappointments. Maybe you don't agree...that is your prerogative.

13. Yeah, but you said "spineless Democrats", not "spineless Democratic leadership" |
|
or the like.
Is Jim Webb "spineless"? Henry Waxman? Obey? Brown? Conyers? Kucinich? Durbin? Feingold? And a whole bunch of other Democrats who were elected thanks to the financial support that fundraising letters like the one you received have allowed?

17. Point taken. I imagined the "if the shoe fits" paradigm would be applicable. |

Just observing the spine/Democrat ratio in D.C. appears to be about 0.731 ;-)

10. True but there's no reason they can't just send no spending bill up. |
|
Kinda hard to veto a bill that doesn't exist.

I don't remember what I said but it was something about don't ask me to support Democratic candidates until those Democrats who we supported in the past represent US.
