Went to buy lunch before going to vote
and I mentioned casually that I was going to vote after getting stuff home.

I was told by several of the staff... thanks I forgot about it. Or I forgot to vote last time, thanks for the reminder.

No, I wasn't trying to do any GOTV... but ended up doing it.

I now this is rhetorical, but how can people forget to vote? As I said, rhetorical... this country has a lousy turn out even in Presidential years... the civic culture is NOT there.

3. Add the ads, and the robocalls...
indeed.

I guess Condy Rice (one of the robos last night) really wanted to talk to me... ugh.

2. See I work with an office full of republicans. I'm not mentioning the vote,
except to the other two dems who work here. We're being silent about this today. :)

7. I am sure though, from your description
they are aware. No, these are the working poor, who SHOULD vote... and make a point of VOTING... who really have no clue there is an election...

I went... amazing. So I pointed out there is an election, who is running, and more or less the stands of candidates...

For Christ sake, one of them didn't realize that Fiorina was outsourcing jobs to China and her really anti labor vote. She said she needed to go vote now...

Realize this is a working place, they are employees, so I had to keep this to really short shpiels. I also pushed our local prop D... one said but that is raised taxes. I pointed out that if this don't pass, when he calls 911 he might get a 15 minute response instead of the gold standard of 5.

Don't expect it to pass, and I expect a whole sale decimation of both police and fire... well locals want a libertarian paradise, the piper is about to make us all pay.

9. I took my "I Voted" sticker off before going into the office.
No point in bringing it up there!

4. I think as a country we're bombarded
by TMI and most of it is bullshit and people just tune it out. I know but, not everyone is like us ;) Plus they have so much going on in their personal lives just to get through the day, week, month - bills to pay, all the usual bullshit.

Look at this way - we're the Blues Brother's and we're on a mission from the Goddess or whover.

8. And the culture is simply not there
we are actually a pretty hard caste society... where the poor are not supposed to have an opinion or a role in government unless we tell them what to think.

No. it is not nice when you peel the layers of US History... but we have a hard core deference to money since oh the late 15th century... and no, we are NOT outside of history.

11. Well the chicken is in the oven
so there!

And I just voted, and NOT for the corporate drones...

:hi:

I guess John Roberts will personally sign the arrest warrant.
