It seems in today's politics that the person behind the scenes
can have more influence that the actors
He might be able to put more progressives in front of the people
Many voices instead of just his in Congress

How would that have been a good strategy in a race that wasn't even close? He had a boatload of cash he raised himself. This was predictable from ten miles and 18 months away.
