I assume we're going to raise taxes to pay for Iraq. |
|
Or does Congress believe that our grandchildren are the ones responsible for paying for it?
If America supports Bush's war, the America should be paying for Bush's war.

we wouldn't want those rich people to suffer an indignity. Look what they have to pay to fill up their hummers, big busses and SUV's. :sarcasm:

3. Will never happen in this administration. But we can hope. |
|
As soon as the general public is asked to sacrifice even the slightest, we'll see a quick end to this nightmare.

You can't lay this all on Bush. I'm not aware of a single Democrat who has pushed the idea of fiscal responsibility for the occupation.

10. Who was leader last time we had a surplus? |
|
Under different leadership, this war may have been funded differently. This administration accumulated astronomical debt without counting the occupation (and forgotten war) spending, so naturally they borrowed from the future to fund the war. That's how they do everything.
Democratic leadership may have yielded the same result regarding funds for the occupation, but no one can say for sure. Under the leadership of THIS administration, there's no doubt.
It's Bush's war. Bush's choice to dive deep into debt.

7. I propose a war tax. It is a way to make the Republics put their money where their mouth is |
|
If they are so gung-ho about the war on terror, then they shouldn't be opposed to the idea of a war tax in the name of both patriotism and fiscal responsibility.
Make them squirm by forcing them to choose between their allegiance to Wall Street and their love of war.
