Liberty U student plotted to set off explosives,

LYNCHBURG, Virginia (CNN) -- A first-year Liberty University student was arrested in what police said was a plot to detonate explosive devices Tuesday, the day of the Rev. Jerry Falwell's funeral.

Mark David Uhl's intended target is unknown, authorities said.

ABC News reported the youth told authorities he had made the bombs -- which were found in his car -- to stop protesters from disrupting Falwell's funeral.

6. I lived in Lynchburg for 2 years

Back in the 1990's I attended Virginia School of the Arts which is located in Lynchburg,VA. ( aka "Falwell Town") and let me tell you there were some seriously brainwashed people walking around that otherwise lovely small town.

Being from an arts school focused mainly on ballet and musical theater, we students were often treated with scorn by many of the locals. I guess old Jerry had told his flock that the school promoted the devil's work or some sort of similar crap.

Considering how some of his followers treated we young aspiring ballet and broadway hopefuls back in the 90's, I can't say I was the least bit surprised to hear about this would be bomber on the news today.
