I wonder why it's so difficult to point out the obvious, that we are in recount territory in FL?

It just sits there at 48.8% vs. 47.8%. Doesn't that qualify as a one point spread?

On edit: I'm referring to the Governor position.

3. Don't they have to count all the absentee & provisional ballots
first, then if there's ony a 1 pt spread there's a recount? Beside that, if you use electronic voting, what are you going to recount?

5. The Democrats would be smart to go into the red counties and look

carefully at those provisional ballots.

In the Republican counties, they have paper ballots, but I understand they have electronic ballots in Democratic counties.

So, I can't answer your question, completely.

14. Florida uses paper ballots with optical scan.
IIRC in a recount they scan again and only hand count the overvotes and undervotes.

8. I think a mandatory recount is triggered by a less than 0.5% difference.
Not sure about the criteria for someone requesting a recount.

9. You are correct about the automatic mandatory recount.
Either candidate can request a recount.

10. A recount in Florida, deja vu. How many lawsuits will there be over the recount?

11. Its now 0.2 % with 89% counted so that is an automatic one then....
...are there any other races that close... I love recounts....

16. Where did you get your stats althecat?
If it's that close, she will win. 89% counted still leaves enough votes to beat .2%

12. How can anyone in their right mind vote for a guy like this??
Scott pled guilty to defrauding Medicare for billions of dollars, the largest ever Medicare fraud case, and was fined $1.7 billion dollars.

:wtf::wtf::wtf:

I live in Florida and am disgusted.

13. Yep, welfare fraud, the irony
If poor people who collect welfare commit fraud, republicans want to jail them forever and take welfare away from everyone.
But if it's corporate welfare fraud, hey, let's make the dude governor!

Disgusting, indeed.

15. Uninformed public.
Newspapers aren't much help. The only ones that seem to do any kind of criticism are actually columnist. Columnists are not investigative researchers.

Also, Florida is 48th out of 50 in Education. Not many critical thinkers for obvious reasons. Jobs are apportioned on a reward system. Not on what you actually know.

17. Uniformed public indeed
I'm sick of his commercials and now I have to see that awful head of his for 4 years here.

Oh and if the people were so upset with the Status Quo here in Florida, why did they vote for the Status Quo?? Let's see we had a Repuke Governor - now a Repuke Governor. Ag Commish, Attorney General are both still Repuke. Sink was CFO and now we have the puke Atwater. Great now we will have no money in this state. Remember it was his and Rubio's idea to build the Taj Mahal. It is just unbelievable.

Did anyone see the Congress races, too?? Ron Klein lost to Allen West?? I must be in some sort of political nightmare. Allen West is gonna represent this area of Florida.

It was truly an uniformed public here in Florida.

18. The bad news is that Florida now belongs to the Republicans.
The good news, is that every mistake they make is theirs. Of course, we need Independents to point that out since the Democrats seem to have trouble sticking that one on.
