5. Do you have any idea how many calls they are dealing with? |
|
Have you ever worked as a receptionist before and if so, how many people could you talk to at once and write all their comments down? SOmehow I think her phones are busier then usual.

15. They are probably getting a bazillion calls this morning because of the Iraq funding. |
|
I'm just making the point that there is probably a very logical reason why they put you to voice mail.

caving on all the issues?? :sarcasm:
on edit- When you find out what the "logical reason" is for our Dems to ignore the will of the people, how bout you clue the rest of us in??

18. Still haven't found that |
|
I was speaking ONLY to the issue of the receptionist. Having worked as one in the past it has to be nearly impossible to answer and write down every comment from every called on today of all days. The people are pissed and many, many are probably calling.
If you want to make some receptionist a demon because she's over-whelmed then be my guest. You are obviously pissed off (like alot of us)and just want someone to yell at.

21. Who is it that I yelled at? I didn't yell, I simply made a comment. |
|
Our Dems aren't listening to the will of the American people, and Pelosi's office not taking note of callers is simply more proof of that. There is no logical reason for the Dems not to listen to what "We the people" want, none. So, if you come up with a good "logical" reason to why the Dems shouldn't care about what the people have to say, or why they are caving like wet cardboard, please let us know. As a person that calls Pelosi, Reid, Hoyers office quite regularly, it is strange that Pelosi's office is now deferring to voice mail. It's never happened in the 2 1/2 plus years that I've been calling..

and it never happened to me before either
If they were really that overwhelmed how did they have the time to tell me twice they were sending me to voice mail?

I thought it was great that a real person answered the phone rather than sending it to voice mail automatically. They might want to be able to tally the opinions to come up with figures to present to congress.

to field calls. As Speaker, she has an ENORMOUS budget, she can let loose of some of it. She has a responsibility to listen to her constituents and, as Speaker, ALL OF US are her constituents.

8. When I called back a second time, and asked WHY I couldn't speak directly to a person |
|
She said they were getting too many calls.
She had enough time to answer the phone TWICE, and tell me that, but not enough time to take my short comment on how they dropped the ball on the Iraq war funding bill by not calling for redelployment, or at the least accountability

9. Well, we have thought they weren't listening |

and your experience proves it. I wonder if they just delete the voice mail messages at the end of the day or if they have a staffer keep track of the opinions expressed? I hope it is the latter.

22. I don't mean this ugly |
|
but maybe go down and volunteer to answer phones. You might have more understanding what it is like to have phones ringing, or listen to Pink Floyd's song TIME and turn it up full blast when the bells start going off.
And Pelosi is speaker of the house, she will of course have more calls than other congressmen, at least in MHO.

*LOL* are You a Master/Mistress? I'm just teasing of course. But I think that if this hasn't happened before it must mean this is a different moment in time. Maybe they are getting an unusual high number of phone calls? I mean, just maybe???
Anyway, nice to see your posts.
