1. We now own it
and that will be the perception by the time 2008 rolls around

6. I am afraid you're right - that we have now taken ownership
of this disaster. And what I simply don't understand is why we are so stupid as to do it. The only way to support our troops - to prevent their death and maiming - is to bring them home NOW, not 2008, not 2009, but NOW. The American people understand that. The Democratic grass roots understand that. The Democratic netroots understand that. Why doesn't the Democratic leadership understand that?

9. Disagree
I think the public realizes that we were lied into the war by Bush and that the D's cannot cut funding for troops in the field. Perhaps they should, but Bush is so out of control he would leave them there to fight and die without funding.

2. The Democratic "leadership" has provided more kerosene for the fire.
While trying to bamboozle us into thinking they are trying to put it out.

3. As grizzly as it is, the more front pages like this we see,
the more people will get disgusted by the insane war.

5. This move by the Democrats will go down in history
Mark my word. This move by the Democrats will historically be know as one of the more politically foolish moves committed by the Democrats ever. Years from know children in school will be shown this as an example of asinine political strategy.

10. good!
If they thought they would be lauded by the media for "supporting the troops" they were fucking stupid, callous and have their heads up their asses. They also have the blood of thousands more humans on their hands. Perhaps they will get a clue for the next bill, but I am not hopeful.
