The Republicans. Let's say they get Obama gone, sweep the country with |
|
their bullshit, take over Washington..
They're never going to raise taxes, so where do we get our revenue?
They're never going to cut the incentives for corporations to outsource so how are they going to provide jobs?
They're never going to have anything but for-profit health care, so nobody can afford it, how do they keep saying it's the best health care in the world?
I just don't see what their long-term plan is other than feeding their fat pockets and egos and further dismantling the Middle Class.

12. I'd remove "long-term" as well |
|
"Long-term" is for poor people. Repubs think long-term in the same way that Enron, Goldman Sachs, etc, thinks long-term. In other words, they don't. Immediate personal gain is the only concern.

19. Yes. In fact, the Religious Right doesn't believe in a long term plan |
|
they all expect to get raptured, the world will fall to the Anti-Christ, the war of Armageddon will kill everyone left behind, and Jesus will come back and chill with his faithful.
Why have a long term plan?

The GOP sure created a monster... snicker snicker...
Remember, there is no actual Tea Party... that would require a lot of work that was never done, including a convention. It's all fake.

So far, they've been floating on anger, with no reality-connection. That's a lot like your typical low-information, high-rage Republican (often fundamentalist). You can persuade this crowd to believe anything. As the economy crashes, the cynical propaganda masters should have no problem convincing their dittoheads that the whole problem was caused by 1) Obama; 2) welfare cheats 3) not being able to go far enough right because all those nasty liberals are thwarting them 4) Industry is hampered by regulations 5) the tax breaks for the rich weren't big enough to motivate them to provide new jobs.
The danger point for the Republicans is if some fairly smart and charismatic person starts capturing the attention of the 'baggers. Palin and Beck afren't quite smart enough, although they are both certainly evil enough. If that happens, a significant portion of the Republican base may follow the 'baggers off the reservation. That will be trouble for Republicorp.

It could happen! A lot of the TeaBagger whine sounds a lot like ours... we want a lot of the same things. I don't think it would be that hard to charm them.

Just as bush was going when we hit the wall in 2006, these guys are drivingg even faster.
I wish it wasn't so, because the damage that will be done to this country will be even worse than in 2008, but the best most of us can do is keep clear of the wreck and be prepared for the fallout.
Thanks to DUers here in 2006, a bunch of us were ready for the bush wreck.

I can well imagine them screwing up the country pretty badly in the next 2 years, and then hanging the blame on Obama and his "socialism." Republicorp and the media are under joint ownership, and there's all the People United $$ in the mix now. I read that they expect $10-20 BILLION to pour into the next election. You can be sure that not much of that will be going to pay for ads supporting Democrats.

in the next few years. Obama has done his part to insure this by keeping all the same players in power from the Bush years in economic matters and the military. If I could ask him one question, that is what I would ask him: What were you thinking when you decided not to change personnel and not to change course?

Veterans Benefits. All that crap about Support the Troops, goes out the window when the Vets get home. I could easily seeing them disbanding the Veterans Administration and giving the finger to vets. Telling them, "you survived in war, now survive at home..". bastards.

They would say, "These men and women survived the the perils of war, they have done their duty and we thank them. Now its time for them to do their duty again, and find a job and a place to live. It should be so much easier for them, to do so, for they have seen far, far worse. Yes, some of them became disabled, in the war, but again, we will give them the Purple Heart, and send them on their way to do bigger and greater things for their country.." blah blah blah.
Another words, take our thanks, a medal, and don't call us, we'll call you.
