So...The best they can do is say in effect "But you were bad too!" There is no attempt, none, to deny that W is "Worst" or at least down there...They KNOW it is true.

Of course, with the first toon I would say, hell yes, I would take those things in a second if I also got the other things from the 1970's:
affordable health care
affordable house prices (remember when you could buy a house for 30,000 dollars? 1-2 x a year's wages? In California?)
Affordable food, cars, clothing....
Decent living wages, little outsourcing of Jobs
Quality food, or at least not from China
Good Union membership levels
Climate not screwed up yet
No Bushco yet
No "Moral Majority" yet
No Aids yet (at least until the late 70's....)
And yes, I happen to LIKE Disco. So sue me...

Personally, this says it better...

4. Jimmy Margulies needs to get his facts straight about that time period
He was basically a newbie during that time period.

5. I just love to compare Junior with any other president whatever
Oh lookee, the stock market has done a lot better under Junior than it did when Carter was president! Or has it?

During Carter's 4 years in office the S&P gained an average of 7.07% each year. For Junior's first 6 years in office that number is 2.59%. You have to go clear back to the Great Depression to find numbers that bad.

Publicans are much better advised to stick with concepts such as freedom and evil doers, and stay away from topics where the truth can be determined by hard facts.

6. Yeah, as if our inflation and interest rates are any better.
If they LYING sacks of shit included fuel/food prices like they
did back then, what would REAL inflation be over the last 6 years?

How many of our poorest citizens were going to "payday loan" businesses
and paying 100% interest/year back then?

How many were using 28%-interest credit cards just to buy food and gas
back then?

Hey, how many US Citizens were being tortured in secret prisons by the
Carter Administration?

7. Ask David Stockman which plan would have reduced the deficit
Carter's or Reagans ... he wrote it in his book ... he put in Carter's plans and it would have reduced the deficit ... Reagan's numbers f*cked it up higher ... they forget about Reagan's hand-picked man since he proved that Reagan screwed the pooch ...
