Gregoire: No choice left but to make painful cuts

Voter Linda Pleasant voted for I-1107, but now worries about the loss of that tax money.

"And oh, my. We're finding that since that passed, where the money comes from," she said. "Nobody thought ahead for that one."

That doesn't come as a surprise to the governor.

"I have to assume people did not understand the ramifications," Gregoire said. "I know they don't want taxes. I get that."

But the governor says the reality is lawmakers will have to make drastic cuts to social services, health care and education. Political analyst Ron Dotzauer says people need to be prepared for those cuts.
