Check in if you think we need as many liberal voices as possible in the media,

even if you don't watch Keith Olbermann.

I do watch Keith. I love his show, even if I occasionally disagree with him.

And I consider it an outrage that he was suspended.

1. I watch him. And Rachel.
And I stay up to do it, because I watch on line. I was seriously thinking of biting the bullet and buying the channel, even though the only way to get it is to take Cluster Fox as well. I won't, now. I refuse.

5. There are alot of threads on this subject
so at risk of repeating myself, I'll chime in - I watch about 5 hours a night (yes, I know, its an addiction), so I'm going through some withdrawl tonight. I may have to get a bottle of wine to counter the MSNBC dt's LOL.

Love Rachel, Ed, Keith, Larry and even Tweety sometimes. I hope they understand that I can't be a hypocrite. I'm standing with Keith and will be watching ghost stories and food network tonight and this weekend.

8. Fairness and fact in media are crucial in a free society.
Opinion is also necessary. Lies hinder.

I worry about a purge of liberal views and internet freedom.

9. I certainly think we do.
Most of the media is made of conservative assholes. We need more liberal voices.

10. Maybe.
I think we need as many *honest* voices as possible in the media.

To the extent that liberal voices speak honestly, there should be more . . .

I haven't read much beyond the headline that KO is suspended, so am not outraged. But I don't watch TV either.

17. MSNBC made it clear the VIEWERS don't count at all.
Then they don't count with me either.

Yes, the media is far too RW and we need more liberal voices, not less. That's pretty obvious, no matter what Fux Sux says.

Besides that, we have almost zero investigative reporters now. Olbermann IS very fair and accurate.

And what's more, the other big networks would BURY a lot of stories, except that they know that Olbermann or Rache or Ed would cover it - making the burying attempt futile.

That said, KO has a following which will follow him wherever he is. MSNBC needs him more than he needs them.

18. Absolutely critical to have liberal and progressive voices in the CM!
The gatekeepers have been successful in limiting Olbermann's audience by only offering MSNBC on expanded cable packages instead of being included in basic cable service like Fox is. We need to have a balance of voices open to all people.
