Rachel's In A Tough Spot Tonight... I Assume She'll Be There, But...
it will be hard for her to act as if nothing happened.

In many ways she owes her job, at least her start, to Keith.

It will be interesting to watch her show tonight.

22. So you punish one of our voices... not smart.

You watch ED
(you may watch Tweety, no opinion there)
You turn off when Countdown comes on
You send an EMAIL/FAX to MSNBC saying "I just turned off your channel because no Keith"
You wait till Rachel comes,on turn it back on, Watch Rachel
You watch Lawrence (your choice)

Lather, Rinse, Repeat

Every day till Keith comes back.

2. It will. Just tuned into Ed Show and no Ed.
Coincidence?

Also, it is funny CNN is covering the story. Will MSNBC touch it at all tonight (or ever)?

10. Ed mentioned last night he was going deer hunting for a couple days.
He may have had a heads up as to what was about to happen.

14. Thanks for the welcome, and CNN just basically said what
we know in their own "unbiased" way. You know the one guy saying 'was it ok?' and the other saying it wasn't because he is a journalist.

But I like that they are at least talking about it. I mean I doubt MSNBC will touch the story at all tonight. It would be great if Rachel or Lawrence did talk about it. But they would probably get suspended too.

12. Heard him mention he was going hunting up north after the election coverage.
For once I don't think it's connected. Fortuitous perhaps, but not connected.

9. Her start in television at least
Pretty sure her intelligence and ability to sort through the tons of bs and makes sense of it all is what got her her radio show on Air America etc etc .

15. Oh Yeah... I Used To Podcast Her Show Every Day Off Of AA...
With Liz Winstead, and without.

Fact remains... she got her TV exposure through Keith, and I'm pretty sure he was the one pushing for her to have her own show on MSNBC.

And remember... Air America no longer exists, while Rachel (hopefully) goes on.

...but I think it would be best if she stood up and said something about this. Rachel, Lawrence, Keith, and Cenk are the only reasons I watch MSNBC anymore.

23. She owes a lot to Keith, but
the one I remember introducing her on MSNBC was Tucker Carlson..remember his show? He also had Willie Geist on almost nightly.

Up till then, I knew Rachel only from Air America Radio.

29. KO was the driving force that got her a night show
He allowed her numerous times to host Countdown & I seem to remember also as a guest. She's smart as hell but not the typical fit for an anchor being that she's not the dress up type. He seems somewhat her mentor in the TV biz. I remember it took the MSNBC makeup & wardrobe people awhile to give her that anchor look.

She and KO are obviously close friends. But she has to fulfill her contract with MSNBC, which means showing up and doing her job. I'll be watching her.

edited to add: and she's a consummate professional.

28. Rachel has exceeded the excellence of her mentor in many ways
I'm sure she'll handle it the same way she handles everything - like the consummate professional that she is. Rachel's "on the road" reporting prior to the election was superior to what KO was doing.

30. Oh yeah she has exceeded her mentor
KO for one apparently doesn't like to travel. And Rachel's reporting depends much less on the "I agree with you" guests. IMHO if NBC is smart they are grooming her for MTP.

32. Considering that she hung an Air America sign upside down in protest over Kent Jones' dismissal
I would be astonished, shocked and amazed, if Rachel didn't make some kind of formal protest tonight.

Not saying it'll be rude or major or anything. But it'll be there, somewhere.
