Romney Camp Bashes Massachusetts In New Ad
By Eric Kleefeld

Wow, what a guy! Mitt Romney is going up on the air tomorrow in Iowa and New Hampshire with a new attack ad. The target?

The state of Massachusetts, whose citizens extended him the honor of choosing him to to be their Governor for one term.

"In the most liberal state in the country," a sinister-sounding narrator intones over the obligatory backdrop of photos of John Kerry and Mike Dukakis, "one Republican stood up, and cut spending instead of raising taxes. He enforced immigration laws, stood up for traditional marriage and the sanctity of human life."

<SNIP>

Does this guy have any moral conviction whatsoever, and seriously -- could he be any creepier?

1. his ads that have been running for awhile have basically been bashing MA
without him the state would have fallen into the Atlantic. Born and raised in mass now living in Ca and i'm really sick of the gop using both places as examples of how not to live.

4. Especially since
the standard of living in both places is on the whole, much better than most of the "red" states.

2. Yep, that should play well here in Iowa
Does he understand that Iowa is a solidly Blue State now? And a lot of people out here hunt as well and do not appreciate his "lifelong hunter" remarks when we all know he's lying. Little good can come out an ad campaign like this.

6. Maybe on a state level, but so are Arkansas and West Virginia
Doesn't mean they are the same when it comes to voting for President.

3. that smarmy
bastard has already been running ads here (RI.) I've heard them on the radio. As if he has any chance around here.

Though the freeper-types we have around here are particularly vicious, even though they are outnumbered about 10 to 1

8. "Smarmy"
Easily the single greatest one word description of Romney. Nice.

5. the primary reason he didn't run for re-election is he realized he couldn't win

9. "cut spending instead of raising taxes" He didn't pay the bills! $3 Billion deficit!!
On his way out he and the Republicon candidate claimed they were leaving a $1 Billion surplus.
Turned out we were really $3 billion in the hole! Typical Republicon tactic, so now Gov. Patrick will *have* to raise taxes, and the Republicons call cry "See? We told you so!"
