Can someone tell me please who are these people that are driving us off the cliff?

I am trying to understand it but I can hardly breathe.

The lies and distortion have become so intolerable that it just compounds every day. If you would of told me 6 years ago that this alternate type of reality would become the norm I would of laughed at the hysterics but I can't even laugh anymore.

In fact I dread turning on the computer and reading the latest outrage and I wonder to myself, "What else could they possibly do?" Truth be told in the back of my mind I know full well what they could do and I often wonder if I would be happier being blissfully unaware because having the knowledge doesn't seem to stop the horrific things being done in my name.

Sorry to be so gloomy but I wonder if I am making a difference...I call my congresswoman, I write my senators, I attend rallies, I donate money, I have helped progressive get elected and right now I feel it is all for naught.

I think I am just heartbroken.
