I'm tired of hating. Like everyone else I've run across people I didn't much care for, didn't admire, disagreed with, preferred not to be around, etc. But I can't say I've seriously hated anyone with particular venom.

Before 2001 that is.

Despite my best efforts I have spent the last six years hating and it's wearing me down. It is depressing, demoralizing and deflating. I'm exhausted but I can't seem to shake it.

I hate George W. Bush. I hate his advisors. I hate the Republicans in Congress. I hate the judicial appointees seeking to rob me of my civil rights. I hate this war. I hate the irrational and immoral religious extremists of all religions. I hate the hatred. How ironic is that?

Damn I'm tired.

2. My brain was not built to keep track of all the shit Republicans send down the pike.
I now have the ability to entertain onlookers as my head ping pongs back and forth between being too disgusted to watch and too afraid to turn away.

I know how you feel,, it's got to end soon or they are going to be some serious postal events around the nation.

6. You know, that really worries me.
The pressure can only be contained for so long. I'm not concerned for me, but I do fear what this frustration could do to someone with little to no support or a productive outlet.

9. It scares me too....
I thank God every day for my family; my two beautiful children, my adoring husband and my wonderful parents - I worry about those who perhaps may not have that and feel that they have no place to go to for help. It's a scary place we live in, I just hope that this nightmare is over soon, we all need something to pins our hopes on.

5. I'm feeling the same way.
I'm at the point where I'm exhausted from hoping and believing and wishing and working.....only to have nothing change. I really don't have much left.

8. God Bless you My Dear
I appreciate reading your posts and I have detected no hate in them. It is incredibly sad that people like bush and those he surrounds himself with would cause such turmoil in the souls of good people. I wish you well. I wish all of us well.

12. Righteous Hatred is a GOOD Thing
Righteous hatred -- the kind of hatred you feel towards * and Cheney and the Republicans in Congress is a good thing.

It motivates.

13. Hate is very self destructive...
Edited on Wed May-23-07 04:08 PM by Mr_Jefferson_24
...Avoid listening to Chimpy if he inspires such strong emotion.

One trick I use is to picture him as a small boy and imagine what growing up under the tutelage of that mother and the expectations of George senior must've been like.

Not trying to construct of defense for Chimpy here, just a means of purging self destructive feelings of hatred.

14. I'm tired of being so cynical, not that i was a ray of sunshine prior to 2000
but i have definitely reached my own critical mass of late. I'm trying to keep some hope so i consider myself a cynical optimist.

16. I know this will get flamed
but, you know what really helps? Using The Law of Attraction...if you don't know, it's what THE Secret is all about, but frankly there are plenty of other books out there on the subject, maybe better, but anyway, it's so much more than just positive thinking. Say to yourself that you would like not to be so full of hate anymore, that you want-blah,blah,blah, whatever it is.... one good thought magnetizes another thought and so on, but I know what you mean, sometimes it's really hard to get out of a funk! That's why the secret is challenging to most.

17. Yes, this is a tough one
I recently heard the past Repuke administrations described thusly:

Reagan was like the country had an anvil on top of it.

BushI felt like a ball and chain.

BushII is like a straight-jacket.

Well, we have to live our lives.

Good luck

19. Me too, tho it waxes and wanes. So why not just
let it go? You can, you know. I have to remind myself of that every now and then. But you can. Just shrug it off. You can STILL do what you need to in the world or, if you prefer and need to, take a break (from DU or all news or whatever) for a while or forever.

Just. Let. It. Go..............

And take a nice, long breath and visualize white light or peace or harmony or whatever filling those now empty spaces.

Thanks. I needed that!

22. I hate to think of what my grandkids are growing into nationwise
I've lost the silly notion we stood for peace/justice and the American way, whatever that is.

I'm tired, cynical, and just about over the bullshit that is ruining this country. We're back in the beginning years again when corporations ran the company store, we worked way too hard to start again.
