Board Member Calls Evolution 'Adult Fairy Tale' |
|
Warrenton (MO) Journal, May 23, 2007 By Lisa Rogers
WRIGHT CITY (MO) SCHOOLS
A Wright City Board of Education member's assertion that Hitler's success and the shootings at Viginia Tech and Columbine High School were the result of teaching evolution has raised the hackles of several district teachers.....
"He indicated that he believes that teachers are responsible for Hitler, Nazi Germany and the deaths of 200 million people since evolution has been taught," they wrote, "He called us adults living in a fairy tale (science) and added that we go in our classrooms and teach evolution like little gods."
During the May 17 meeting, Craft distributed his own letter.........in it he apologized..........and said his remarks were'nt accurately reported.........He wrote that "It is historically true that Nazi Germany was the first generation to be educated under evolutionary philosophy and several of its leading thinkers promoted it. It is also true that when the nation's religious leadsers surrendered to his schemes the hope of avoiding the second World War was lost. It is true that the shooters at Columbine High School demonstrated that they were celebrating Hitler's birthday. It is also true that the shooter at Virginia Tech referenced the shooting at Columbine."
(The article also says that Craft believes our moral decline is due to teaching Evolution. The sad thing is two other board members agree.)

1. Well, I suppose it involves about a billion years of sex. |
|
That's kind of dirty, if you think about it.

6. my friend refers to me as her "Favorite blasphemer" after a very long talk about the |
|
bible. I don't i am disrespectful but i have very definite ideas about the bible and why it was written, lets just say it doesn't jibe with her beliefs but she was the one that brought the subject up.

About evolution when the anti-evolution lawyer was saying:

8. Let's go through this backwards--tell me if this is right |
|
In reverse order: Virginia Tech--Columbine--Third Reich--Darwin. Yeah, I can see that.
On the other hand, The Origin of Species was published in the same year that Thomas Austin introduced rabbits to Australia, which had been a British penal colony. So, by the same logic, you could blame crime on those wascally wabbits.

14. Fairy tales typically have magic and fairies in them |
|
Won't find much of that in science texts. I wonder which texts you could find such things in?
