Open Letter to Ms. Hasslebeck...WAKE UP YOU TWIT
not everyone lives in your perky little fantasy land.

If it were not for your backup hubby's connections, you would be nothing.

The real world doesn't obsess over Dancing with the stars or Survivor or the Bachelor

The real world can't afford nannies

The real world doesn't get daily make up sessions or "briefings" from the white house

you are nothing but a twit and it is time you started thinking about the real world

When you put your hand on your chin, you are not any smarter no matter who told you it would make you look it.

You can't hold a candle to Joy or Rosie.

You are nothing but a RW parrot whore who needs to just go away.

If you think you are so smart, why don't you try for 30 days to live on minimum wage...then tell us that conservatism is good.

You won't read this or respond just like you won't respond to your "email" from The View.

When Rosie leaves, your job will be gone

20. I rank Maury higher than the View
But only b/c the watching-like-it's-a-horrible-car-wreck factor is higher for Maury. I'll actually watch up to 15 minutes of Maury...the View I turn off immediately, I just can't stand it.

Is it's freaking celebrities bickering to each other, who cares??

Seriously, I got a lot more important shit going on in my life to even care what Rosie or Elizabeth thinks. I mean I get the jist of it, Rosie's left wing and Elizabeth is right wing. That ain't gonna change. And I prefer not to watch people yelling at each other.

I'm going to rank this dispute up there with the Hillary Duff/Avril Lavigne publicity "fight."

Should I check with you in the future? I look at a lot of stuff that I don't actually agree with, it's a morbid fascination I guess. Maybe I was hoping for some insight on the topic and why people in general are interested in the Rosie/Elizabeth "fight."

I wasn't going to post on this topic at all, hence why I never posted in direct response to your OP. But I saw Bloo's post, that I do agree with, so I posted there.

37. the insight is threaded throughout this post yet you still say it is "airheaded"
the fact that Rosie is daily trying to get the truth about the war/911/ stolen elections and much more

makes the View's hot topics a must see for many who do not normally watch the news

she is doing her best to wake up the nation and she is taking a daily beating for it

38. Which particular sentence did imply "airheaded" as you say?
Was is:

1.I look at a lot of stuff that I don't actually agree with, it's a morbid fascination I guess.

2.Maybe I was hoping for some insight on the topic and why people in general are interested in the Rosie/Elizabeth "fight."

3.I wasn't going to post on this topic at all, hence why I never posted in direct response to your OP.

4. But I saw Bloo's post, that I do agree with, so I posted there.

I'm just wondering? I mean seriously, I did originally click on this thread to maybe get a little insight. Bloo's post just stuck out as something I agreed with, so I posted with that.

But when on this thread (or at all in my entire DU history) have I called Rosie or Elizabeth an "airhead." I have yet to say I agree or disagree with either of them. I am curious in general on why so many care what television celebrities think. I've read various threads, and I do see a little, but I don't always feel the need to post on every single thing.

62. I'm doing research for grad school on how the media influences people.
One of the articles I'm looking at is Sex, Lies, and War: How Soft News Brings Foreign Policy to the Inattentive Public by Matthew A. Baum, from The American Political Science Review.

From the article:

For individuals who are not highly educated or politically aware, increased soft news consumption is associated with reduced support for overseas commitments and an increase in soft news' coverage of crime/terrorism as the U.S.' most urgent problems.

I'm thinking this might explain a drop in approval if Americans see Iraq as an unrelated overseas commitment and not part of "the war on terror."

59. I think the point people are trying to make is that, while we here at DU are
informed and wordly and we (in theory) don't care about celebrities bickering, there are MANY, MANY people *outside* of DU who watch this show. People who are NOT informed, people who only know what they hear in the MSM, and even then don't bother to listen carefully.

We're the proverbial choir here at DU. It's the people who watch Oprah and The View and Entertainment Tonight who need to wake up. And we're not waking them up by posting here on DU. It's people like the celebrities bickering on those shows that are going to get those folks interested in a few real issues between the discussions about weight loss and who's adopted an African orphan.

Believe me, I don't watch the show. And I'm not personally interested in watching celebrities bicker. But if it wakes up a few people who were completely clueless then I say go for it. And if you're not interested in discussing it, why post?

Not many people got an invite to the white-tie affair at the WH last week. Many DC insiders who would normally get an invitation to such an event never recieved one, yet this no-talant nobody gets invited. Why? She is performing an important job to the WH by making the wack-ass WH talking points seem resonable (to the uninformed) to millions of housewives and other viewers.

but in reality, I believe she is deadly afraid of the audience, and her fear grows daily as her world shrinks because the talking points, fed to her by her 'minders', are failing to gain traction. I have observed that she is operating very close to the edge, and we may soon see a spectacular event when she finally crashes and burns.

being said about your idiotic support of B* on YouTube. Read all of the very positive comments concerning Rosie and Joy, who speak truth and not faux propaganda. That might wake you up some, but I sincerely doubt it.

But Please, all DUers, post a comment and rate this up for Rosie and Joy. Their bravery is awesome.

66. I've always enjoyed the malapropism of that grammatical construct.
It wasn't until about 20 years ago that I REALLY began to appreciate how differently the world appears to those who are seen as very attractive. I had a friend whose daughter was one of those gals who turned heads when she walked into a room - the kind of upbeat, cheerful, good-looking that put smiles on faces. More than cute, she was that joyful kind of pretty. While sexy, it was even more her upbeat and energetic attitude ... and it portrayed a worldview of someone for whom doors were opened and both men and women were solicitous and helpful.

Then she got a bit older. The world changed for her. It was obvious she didn't "get it." I don't think I've ever met someone who was so ill-prepared for the "normal" kind of adversity that most of us 'ordinary-looking' people regard as so normal that we rarely even notice it.

Liz Hasselback reminds me of her ... in spades. She's a person who just doesn't see the same world as ordinary folks ... because it just doesn't react to her the same way. She's clueless. In a very human way, she attributes her comparative satisfaction with her own 'success' as attributable to some 'better judgment' or 'better viewpoint' of her own. She really thinks others (like Rosie) have only themselves to blame for not seeing the same world Liz does. When we add the usual conservative mindset to that attitude, we get something that really makes us go WTF?!?!

Also, still claims that a timeline for withdraw in the funding bill would alert "our enemies" to the US plan of exiting Iraq and thus embolden them. I wonder why no one has asked her about the Plame outing and how exposing an covert CIA intel operation to "our enemies" is much, much worse.

45. How is it possible that someone with her total lack of
qualifications gets invited to the WH to meet the Queen of England? How much of a role did Barbara Walters (Pro-Israel) play in this in your opinion?

55. Trump sees the war as a failure also. he can't deny
Rosie her props for being right about it. I had no idea he'd make a comment like that about a pretty blond. Doesn't Trump normally like pretty women?

58. Shhh, don't you be silly.
It's like a wide receiver running his pattern, if he let's the other player know his route, the other player is sure to catch his pass and the other team will win.

I made this up all by myself, this is my analogy, I think for myself and I am brave. I wake up every morning and come here and speak my mind, speak from the heart. I am no coward. :grr: :sarcasm:

60. Look, I think Rosie has totally raised the bar on daytime TV
She has educated and helped wake up many a sleeping stay at home Mom. My sister and I are now on the same page - she watches every day and is now almost as informed on our "real world" situation. She took daytime TV away from being totally about make-up & wardrobe and laundry detergent. ALL WOMEN in my opinion owe her a debt of grattitude. Just because you are a "stay-at-home" doesn't mean you WANT to remain and NEED to remain clueless.

I heard talks are in the works for Whoopi to replace her when she leaves in 3 weeks.

They feed her all the information through her earpiece and she just repeats. Rosie doesn't wear an earpiece.

64. Perfect Example as to how 9/11 was "supposed" to work
you can tell she has been totally brainwashed by 9/11 and the "terrorists". Rosie needs to invite Charlie Sheen on.

He had some rw shills on to agree with his pronouncement that Rosie does believe the troops are terrorists. Not a word about Hasselbeck. All about how awful Rosie is. It was disgusting.

69. "I've never seen 'The View' " ... but ...
...it seems like I have --- just reading all the Rosie/Elizabeth posts.

What I'd like to know is what were Hasselbeck's qualifications for being on the show in the first place?

Seems to me, the only place I ever saw her was on "Survivor" (Australia)?
