Was anything accomplished in the massive manhunt for our three -
now 2 - missing soldiers in Iraq. How many doors were broken down? How many people were roughed up. How many Iraqis were turned against the Americans, or am I just too embittered about the entire war to see any positive results, here?

2. I feel so sorry for the missing troops, but the US govt looks very hypocritical
If they were so concerned about the safety of US troops, they WOULD NOT SEND THEM THERE. Soldiers die every day and Bush doesn't seem to care.

3. Are you saying that they shouldn't be looking for them?
Because I'd want them searching for my kid. Period!!!

5. Gen Betrayus said that he believed that two are still alive.
He didn't explain why he believed that.

10. How could they NOT look for them?
Edited on Wed May-23-07 10:02 PM by Marrah_G
They have to at least try to save them, even if they are most likely already dead. We don't just fucking leave our guys hanging, no matter how much of a douchebag our "CIC" is. (Edit: I see you do have someone there.) I know you say you don't mean it that way, but I am still trying to figure out what this post is supposed to be saying.

This whole thing has really scary thoughts running through my head tonight, yours too probably. I'd rather see my brother dead then captured over there, but if he was, I would damn sure want someone looking for him.

11. I would have tried a more diplomatic way to get our boys back
but of course this admistration has no idea of the meaning of DIPLOMACY. I'm sorry if I offended people, but that is the way I think!!!

12. There really isn't any diplomacy to be had at this point
Edited on Wed May-23-07 10:13 PM by Marrah_G
The country is so fragmented that any number of groups could have taken them. It's tough to negotiate anything unless you have a starting point. Also many of the smaller groups do not want to negotiate, they want revenge. It's not like there is any sort of leadership to go to. There isn't any one group who has sway over the others. This is what our bumbling president has created and his family are not the ones paying the price.
