8. Good for you! I've quit a few times and am back at it again, and I don't know |
|
why because I love the FREEDOM of not smoking - don't you? I also loved being able to sing at the top of my lungs in the car without running out of breath and coughing!

before this one took. I did chantix AND the e cig and I credit adding the electronic cig for my success. For the breakthru craving it gave me something to "smoke" and got me over the hump. Wishing you the best of luck.

I once tried to quit and one of the many reasons it failed to take was I was dating a lady who smoked.

|
I'm a life-log non-smoker... just never had the urge to even try it. However, my parents and assorted aunts, uncles, and grandparents all smoked.
It just isn't an issue.

people talk about how horrid the smoker is, i see it as a nonissue, too.
i certainly respect the person that does not want to be around a smoker. but i respect the person that does not create smoking as all the person is, even more.

21. Go to your Tools at the top then |
|
click on Add-ons
A dialog box will come up. In the search box type in AdBlock Plus, tell it to install.
I also recommend NoScript, but if you don't understand when to allow sites, it can be a bit more challenging.

22. I quit three years ago |
|
...I enjoyed smoking, but I have to realistically put the tobacco companies near the top of the list of soul-killing evil corporate slave-masters. It was hard to keep putting out the dough daily to fill their pockets.
After quitting I took up bicycling, my old youthful recreation, to keep me occupied and off the stuff. It has worked out great.

24. No to either. I smoked a ton of pot when I was younger, and never really smoked cigs. |
|
Thankfully, because by all accounts, pot is way easier to quit.
To add, though, both should be legal, regulated, taxed, and available for consenting adults to enjoy if they so choose.

26. I started smoking as a 12 year old kid |
|
Gave it up each time I got pregnant, and finally lost the habit for good.
But honestly, even though I feel absolutely no cravings anymore - and I am around people who smoke regularly - I still have dreams about lighting up a cigarette. It's weird.

28. After smoking for 29 years, I quit on 7-7-97. That was the day I was told I had a cancerous tonsil. |
|
(Although if you have to have cancer, a tonsil is probably the way to go. I had a tonsillectomy followed by six weeks of radiation therapy and here I am, 13 years later, still ticking along.)

As a child, there were a lot of adults that smoked around me, so I guess I got turned off to it at an early age. I have never once had a desire to try smoking tobacco or cannabis.
No judgments about others here, it's just not for me. :hi:

39. Stopped 6 months ago, started winding down on the nicotine gum this weekend. |
|
Went down from 4mg pieces to 2mg and have 2 packs of 60 pieces left before I finally quit it all together. I stopped drinking at the same time as that was what always ended previous attempts to give up smoking. I'll probably keep off the wine and beer for at least a couple of years to keep the willpower strong.
