She came off as just a weak bit actress. Although she played the young, wholesome, Christian, School Ma'arm, who MAY have crossed the line in her service to President Bush. She had good intentions, it seems.

I give her acting no better than a C+.

Twenty years ago (Sweet Jeebus) I watched the great Ollie North give sworn Testimony. I watched his performance with awe. Hell, he admitted, ne' bragged, about giving bombs to radical Iranians during the tense 1980's. The same folk who killed US Marines in Beirut Lebanon in 1983.Study on that for just a moment.

His performance was so good he became an American Hero. Real life Hero. A man who gave bombs to terrorist who killed US Servicemen became a hero.

Now that was a performance.

I think the GOP's strategy is/was to get lots of young, stupid CHILDREN into these hi-level positions, because they're malleable and easily star struck. Because once you get onto the government merrygoround you almost never get off. You move from service to the administration into a lobbying firm or a defense contractor or you run for office of your own. They pick these young impressionable kids -- who, let's face it, have already shown their propensity to fall for fairy tales when they chose to go to law school at Regent or Liberty U -- and they know they've have 'em for life. It's for the same reason you start indoctrination small children very early...once you've grown up a bit and become a bit wiser to the ways of the world, it's much harder to get 'em to fall for the bullshit.

Monica was a prime example of the malleable guppy...she gleefully broke the law for her party. Most people know, even it's just from watching crime shows on teevee, that you never volunteer information during testimony; answer only what was asked, don't embellish, don't provide any ammo for the opposition. Yet Goodling, supposed with a law degree of some sort, working for the DOJ, spouted off like a guilty schoolgirl. Even after the inquisitor's five minutes were up, she'd continue yakking, offering far more insight than even the original question asked. She's a stupid, ignorant guppy. That's why they installed her in that post.
