1. I am curious
We are stretched very thin in Iraq.
Not only that, we have sent all these ships to the Persian Gulf with sailors on it.
Who is left here to defend us while we weinie-wag in the Middeast?

4. Bombs, not soldiers or sailors or marines.
They've planned this for a while. If Iran doesn't "surrender" within the first 24 hours, then more bombs. Repeat as necessary.

What a fucked up scenario.

5. That's a good question...

...Our military chessboard seems to be set up mainly for offensive misadventures in foreign lands -- if we were to be attacked at home by a large invading force I wonder how effectively we'd be able to counter once they were on U.S. soil.

2. China urges diplomacy as US-Iran tensions rise
http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/05/24/asia/AS-GEN-China-US-Iran.php

Aircraft carrier strike groups led by the USS John C. Stennis and USS Nimitz were joined in the Gulf by the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard and its own strike group, which includes two landing ships carrying 2,100 members of the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

The maneuver — which will culminate in an amphibious landing exercise in Kuwait, just a few kilometers (miles) from Iran — appears to be a clear warning to Tehran, just ahead of U.S.-Iran talks in Baghdad.

6. Oh how nice
Our banker says we should try diplomacy.
Funny how the money that Congress can give to this fucknut to fight his overseas adventures could be cut off immediately by them. Ironic really.

3. Fan-freakin'-tastic. Can't win the wars we're in, so who's going to
be fooled by a "show of strength"?

7. If the oil companies run out of excuses for the high price of gas never
fear this President will come to the rescue...The Iranian tensions is probably worth at least 20 cents a gallon.
