of business.

Of course if they did, Bush would have given them a better democracy than us.

2. I thought they already did. At least the public sentiment says so.

4. 144, a slight majority, have signed a draft bill to do just that.

BAGHDAD, May 10 -- A majority of members of Iraq's parliament have signed a draft bill that would require a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. soldiers from Iraq and freeze current troop levels. The development was a sign of a growing division between Iraq's legislators and prime minister that mirrors the widening gulf between the Bush administration and its critics in Congress.

7. LINKS on Iraqi opinion on withdrawal, and parliament bill
I actually put up a blog on polls of Iraqis but gave up when it got NO hits.

A British Ministry of Defense poll showed that less than 1% of Iraqis feel safer because we are there and 82% "strongly oppose our presence.
http://whatiraqiswant.blogspot.com/2005/11/99-of-iraqis-vs-elected-liars.html

A USA Today poll in March 2004 found that 57% wanted us to leave immediately. If you take out the Kurds, who we treated well & protected between the wars, it jumps to over 60%

Around the same time, the Bush-appointed Coalition Provisional Authority poll said 45% wanted us to leave after the January 2005 elections and another 41% wanted us to leave immediately.
http://whatiraqiswant.blogspot.com/2005/07/graphics-what-do-iraqis-want-important.html

A September 2006 PIPA poll said 71% of Iraqis wanted us to leave within a year.
http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/articles/brmiddleeastnafricara/250.php?nid=&id=&pnt=250&lb=brme

The same organization also found that 94% had an unfavorable impression of al Qaeda, dispelling Bush's lie that the terrorist group would take over the country if we pull out. If we, the world's sole superpower, can't occupy Iraq, it is doubtful that al Qaeda, which had at most 20,000 members at its peak could do better.

The majority of the Iraqi parliament has signed a petition asking us to leave, and have drafted a bill calling for a withdrawal by the end of the year.

Bill

The American people want us out of Iraq, our troops want us out of Iraq, the world wants us out of Iraq, and Iraqis themselves want us out of Iraq. How exactly is Bush teaching democracy by ignoring the will of so many people?
