Amnesty International - Torture blogad yields freeper response
Edited on Thu May-24-07 11:26 AM by Kevin Spidel
They are trying to hammer the site... but really have no effect. It is actually really quiet funny.

After Green Day's performance of our new single off of the Instant Karma CD on American Idol last night (see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-gPck4ZPEs)

We decided to use some of this attention to put our issues out there. Like Torture.

We ran this blogad in some right wing blogs to get some folks to think about this:

Darth Vader: torture, enslavement of Wookiees, decimation of the Alderaanian civilization.

Hobgoblin: attacks on Spiderman, gassing civilian populations, using innocents as human shields.

Dick Cheney: torture, black sites, "disappearances,' kangaroo courts, indefinite detention, and more!

The response was interesting:

From a Texas blogger -
This proves Amnesty International not only is a leftwing wacko, anti-American outfit but also even more irrelevant than I presumed it to be.

From the land of the freepers:

Torture in the defense of America isn’t just OK, it us a moral imperative.

I wonder if they quit dogging the real human rights violators because they tend to end up getting necklaced.

The world knows it can rag on GWB, US Conservatives and Christians, because even if we get mad, we won't saw peoples heads off.

I also want to thank them for their poll for one more reason. By comparing Cheney's alleged "atrocities" to those of two fictional characters, does that not underscore just how unserious the charges against the VP actually are?. I think so. So kudos to you, Amnesty International! Before you know it you'll be with us on the need for Jack Bauer-esque torture techniques.

Darth Vader didn’t “decimate” the people of Alderaan. He destroyed the whole planet. Everybody knows that. Never mind what he did to the separatists on Mustafar and the Jedi younglings on Coruscant. So Amnesty is minimizing Darth Vader’s evil so that he’ll compare more favorably with Cheney. That’s just plain dishonest. But it’s how they also tend to approach international relations between actual, existing humans: Non-American evil is minimized so that we’re put on a similar level with the Kim Jong-Ils of the world.

Care to weight in?

Post this blogad everywhere you know.

1. What did you expect from the chicken shit Neo Nazi's that these americans are?
They spew pro Nazi tactics when they can do it in secret but pretend that they are disgusted with the KKK and Nazi party in public. These are the same ones that are calling SSI checks nut checks because they know blacks are faking mental illness to get on SSI.
