Dems back down,, Warships near Iran any connection?
Does the capitulation of the dems to asshat give bush the "mandate" he needs to start a war with Iran? The tensions are very high, the aircraft carriers are ready to launch. Now, with the dems in his back pocket, will dumbys make his move?

1. Yes, is it any reason that Iran is nervous with our illustrious "war games" off their coast? n/t

5. Sorry, I don't have a link, but I've been seeing the reports on TV
One reporter said that the tensions are at the highest point so far. Two carriers, I believe, and many more warships.

7. Yes.
On TV this morning the growing armada was being reported on. Also, the directive about destabilizing Iran and the people Iran is holding. I've seen more articles in the paper these last two weeks of more National Guard leaving for deployment.

3. No, this is more related to their capitulation on giving him the authority to start a war with iran
moreso the iraq thing. I have no idea why they caved on eitehr of them, frankly.

4. they only gave Bush 4 months
I like this deal. The Dems only gave 4 months of funding. If the surge doesn't work then
the dems can pull the plug. There will be enough republicans at that point who will agree with the dems to do it. I believe that we should give Gen. Petraeus until September to show us that his plan can work. We will see.

8. The war is wrong, immoral, illegal, did I mention WRONG.
Funding it will mean many more wasted lives on both sides, and big bucks into the war corps. WRONG!

12. I don't like this deal.
Every funding bill has had a sunset whereby it needs another. Everytime, they get what they want until the next time.

10. Mandate? Bush doesn't need no stinking mandate.
Dictators don't need mandates, and usually don't have them.

13. I postulated the same idea this morning....my reasons are mostly
from my gut but you do have to wonder why the huge turn around from bill number one on war funding and the second one. After Pelosi and Reid came out of the WH after the second bill "discussion" they seemed so weak...deflated...and nervous. Maybe Bush told them something that encourages keeping the troops funded at least long enough for the games to begin. I don't know but I just feel that way.

14. I believe there is a connection, it is Dick Cheney's insane plan
....to force another 9/11 event. What I don't understand is that the democratic leaders and elected congress representatives and senators know this crap is occurring, yet they just will not impeach either Cheney or Bush and bring it all to an end.

15. This "new" build up actually occurred last February.
The deployment of two carrier groups to the Gulf occurred in February with the arrival of the Stennis and the Eisenhower. The Eisenhower departed this month upon the imminent arrival of the Nimitz to take its place.

16. Doubt it - Bush doesn't give a crap about what anyone else says or does.
He doesn't listen to Republicans OR Democrats - only the people who gave him and his re-election committees big fat checks.
