Ex-Homeland Security secretary's company lobbies for body scanner maker

The CEO of one of the two companies licensed to sell full body scanners to the TSA accompanied President Barack Obama to India earlier this month, a clear sign of the deep ties between Washington politicians and the companies pushing to have body scanners installed at all US airports.

Deepak Chopra, chairman and CEO of OSI Systems and no relation to the New Age spiritualist, was one of a number of CEOs who traveled with the president on his three-day trip to India, which focused primarily on expanding business ties between the US and the emerging Asian power.

4. This would be a great theory if
Obama had anything to do with the development and order of the scanners.

What does a trip to India have to do with the outrage? More than 200 CEOs joined the President on that trip.

9. I say choose your entourage wisely
especially knowing that the call for fear has been prescient and limiting rights.

It does bother me greatly that Obama is supports all that TSA is being allowed to do to American citizens....to humans...
Choosing that particular CEO to travel to India was not choosing wisely, IMO. Two hundred CEOs out of how many? Am sure there were others that would have better represented the leader of the free world.

13. Is Napolitano an Obama appointee or not? She is responsible
for buying those machines, despite the years of lawsuits from civil rights advocates that had successfully protected our rights, until now?

He has not condemned their use has he? No, on the contrary he has used weasel words to try to convince the public that they are necessary to fight 'terra'. He's losing his touch though. Once they abused children, a definite line in the sand was drawn, and to put himself on the side of the abusers, when he himself would never subject his own children to such abuse, was not only reprehensible but a huge strategic mistake politically. People will not forget this. To think we screamed when Bush tried to bring these abhorrences into the lives of the traveling public!

So Obama is selling our privacy and dignity for $10 billion and 50,000 jobs? Always follow the money:

...

"I am honored to be selected to play a role in this very important cause," Chopra said in a statement ahead of the trip. "Currently the trade between US and India is only one tenth of the amount of trade between US and China. There is substantial opportunity to improve the trade relations with India for mutual economic gain."

Chopra's company manufactures the Rapiscan brand of body scanners, currently being deployed across US airports. He joined the CEOs of such companies as GE, PepsiCo and United Technologies on the trip. The president announced commercial deals worth some $10 billion during the trip, which he said would add some 50,000 jobs to the US economy.

12. It just gets worse and worse. So, the man who appears to be
helpless in fighting for say, a PO, has zero problem getting machines that have been controversial since they were first introduced years ago into airports along with punitive abusive patdowns which appear to be designed to force people not to opt out of using the machines.

Wow, this issue has been a civil rights issue for years. He is pretty effective when he believes in something after all. Went right over the heads of anyone who had concerns about the rights of the people. This is pretty stunning, the second stunning piece of information about this president I have read tonight. The other, he falsely accused FDR of being 'irresponsible' for not taking immediate action to deal with the crisis after he was elected.
